We had Sunday lunch here a few days ago and we were blown away! Not only was this the cutest pub, but the food was outstanding. We had creative starters that would not have been out of place in a gourmet restaurant and the perfect Sunday roast came out with equally perfect side dishes. All at a very reasonable price and served by a friendly and efficient crew.
Had Christmas Eve dinner here - absolutely wonderful. The staff were all so friendly, our 3 course meals were delicious and portions were a perfect size, really reasonable price as well. It’s great to find somewhere that caters so well for vegans as well as carnivores. thank you! Definitely would recommend visiting!
A lovely little thatched country pub with great food, real ales, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. We didn't book a table but they were very accommodating and family friendly. The home cooked meals were tasty and well presented. A very impressive pub in a peaceful little village crossed by a stream.
Really impressed. We both had chicken satays for starters, which were perfect. Chicken ballotine for main, with a side of vegetables. Not a single thing wrong with the entire meal, it was all cooked to perfection. Lovely cocktail too, from a decent cocktail menu the dark and stormy in the pic. Didn't have room for dessert, though that looked great too. The menu had plenty of gluten free options, one of the best we have seen. Possibly the best meal out I've had in a long time. Staff were really friendly, service time was great. If this place was closer, I would be here every week! Dietary restrictions: Plenty of gluten-free options, which is a rare diamond
We had a fabulous late lunch with our family here. All the staff were so welcoming and jolly but the food was absolutely delicious. The portions were really generous. My clotted cream mash and handmade chicken pie was so fully packed, and the gravy was stunning and in its own little jug. There was no vegetable shortage here, and I struggled to find room for my exceptional desert, but I did. Thank you, everyone. We had the best afternoon.
Great meal today. Attended with friends after seeing the reviews on the website and Trip Advisor. They weren't wrong! Friendly and knowledgeable staff served freshly cooked food which couldn't be faulted. We chose the pie steak & ale today and the pan- roasted hake followed by the lemon posset and the soured cherry & chocolate cheesecake. Yummy! Highly recommended
Beautiful and characterful building. Fantastic and beautifully prepared lunch. Comfortable, well looked after and pleasant atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and efficient.Food: 5/5
This pub is great. Food, service and beers. The pub serves all the Palmers Brewery range of beer and ales. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and very helpful. I'm looking forward to visiting again soon. The beer garden is a must of a sunny day.
Stumbled across this pub on our 4hour journey home from holiday, and what a perfect stop! The staff are so lovely and friendly and the food delicious! I wish this was our local. Thank you for the smiley faces and wonderful food.
Very pretty pub slightly off the beaten track. Bit too much fatty bacon on the scallops which took over the flavour and not much crab in the crab and prawn salad but still edible. You have to ask for the vegetarian menu as its separate to the main one. Good choice though. Didn't stay for dessert as it was too hot. Good covid measures in place. Will go back
