Nice Mothers Day lunch. Great variety of veggies and meat. Pleasant staff and quick service.
First visit to this pub in many years. We were allocated the skittles room to hold a meeting, and we felt welcome. The beers were well kept here and drinks reasonably priced. The food is fine at the price charged - one tip - my chilli looked a bit anemic but tasted great - it could have looked much better with the addition of a spoonful of passata.
Our new favourite pub! Very traditional, friendly staff, great selection of drinks and a lovely atmosphere. This is what a pub should be!
Fantastic local pub. Great friendly staff, delicious homemade food and always a warm welcome.
Good warm pub and staff are friendly. Watch football
Well, my first visit since I was 19. I'm 56 now !! Lovely atmosphere, great beer, great service and great to remember all those memories. Oh, and the toilets are clean and good. Nice touch having jars of different snacks available for a £1 a scoop. Well done. Update 17th September..... There is now a cooked food menu and a Sunday lunch option too. Excellent addition.
I am a real ale fan in character pubs with a landlord who knows how to look after the beer. This pub ticks all the boxes with the added plus of a 2 happy hour between 5 and 7 Monday to Friday.
A strange, unique place but I liked it. Barman obviously knew what he was doing and ran the place well. Very quiet when we visited but I expect it has a loyal, local following. We were lucky to arrive when they had an happy hour of sorts and were greeted well enough. Would definitely recommend and really liked the batman's style. Curt but professional, just as it should be.
This is a smashing little pub, with real ales and cider on draft, very friendly!
Visited this pub as it appears to be a quaint traditional establishment Once inside, could not be more disappointed, this was entirely due to the appalling service delivered by the single bar man. Pub was very quiet, however, waited 10 minutes before the bar man sauntered over with a ‘what do you want attitude’ Such a shame, not what you expect in the lovely town that Dorchester is. Needless to say, not recommended
