Fantastic pub with decent food and a good selection of beers. The staff are always lovely, and the manager in particular makes the experience exemplary. We've been coming here for years, but recently visited to commemorate the life of a loved one; we requested if we could takeover the music and, even though there were other patrons there, the pub were all too happy to oblige our strange request. The manager helped turn what might have been a sad day into a lovely experience and memory, and we're extremely grateful. DO NOT HESITATE to visit.
Lovely Sunday lunch whilst visiting family. Excellent choice on main menu and also choice of roast dinners including small plates ideal for children or people with smaller appetites. Friendly and attentive staff. Excellent value for money. Thank you all.
Went in for a 2 course meal for £16.95 with 2 dining and was charged £10.00 more than expected. Approached the till to pay and mentioned this. Was told this offer was not available during December. I mentioned that it was on the menu we received on sitting at our table, stated surely they should issue another menu with no mention of the deal. We were charged as per the offer menu. Food was excellent and service could not be faulted. Would certainly go and eat again.
My wife and I were in The Saxon Arms with some friends for a Christmas lunch. The welcome was warm and friendly. Two of our party had starters which looked delicious. Most had turkey for their main, but we had salmon. Everyone enjoyed the turkey. We thought the salmon was excellent. There was a fairly wide range of "puddings" all of which went down very well. My apple, pear and cinnamon crumble with ice cream was delicious. We were at a large table near the fire which was very cosy. The service was efficient and the servers very friendly. There was a good number in the pub and the atmosphere was festive. At £24.95, it was not that cheap, but the quality made it a fair price. All of our party enjoyed the occasion very much. It is good to know that The Saxon Arms is keeping up the high standards of food and hospitality.
Lovely experience, really great atmosphere. Service was brilliant even though it was busy. Food was good and well priced. The type of pub you would love down the road. Dog friendly as well.

Fantastic lunch. Food was delicious, generous portions and served piping hot. The service was delightful. Staff very nice. Dog friendly areas too so will be returning when next in the area.
