We enjoyed our stay at Troy Hotel! We are a couple, and spent couple of days here. The location is just great, the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very basic, it is the only thing we were not super enthusiastic about but the rest was perfect! If we have to come back to expensive London we will definitely be happy to stay here again, good value for money!
Hotel Troy, Hyde park, London The location of the hotel is prime and it carries a three star rating. The room alloted to me was very small. It measured approximately 10 feet by 11 feet. Hardly any space was available for free movement. There was no chair in the room, not even a stool to sit on. Switching on the bedside lights was quite a task. I couldn't find the switch for the right side lamp but was fortunate enough with the left side one. Bathroom was pathetic. The shower area was approx 50 cm by 50 cm where it was difficult to bathe freely. The remaining area was around 4 feet by 5 feet. There was no air-conditioning. When I asked at the reception the answer was that London had pleasant weather hence no need to provide an AC. And the worst thing in my room was that I couldn't open the mini refrigerator. It was so close, maybe 20 cm from the bed. The door of the outer box would hit the bed making the fridge completely inaccessible. I have a photo of this here. What a joke on the guests who you were supposed to keep comfortable. Why provide it if it can't be used? Breakfast was so-so, mostly cereals and bakery items. However, everything was fresh and enjoyable. I wonder what parameters the system here has in order to assign ratings to hotels. How can you justify three stars for a property that did not provide a chair or a stool and has no AC in a room? At the most one star. I stayed in room 303.
The reception staff displayed poor manners. The receptionist failed to reassure guests about their security key issues and did not offer an alternative room with a functioning key. Additionally, the staff member who provided assistance lacked proper training in hospitality and customer service, depending instead on guests to help him.
For the price of £140 we were expecting better. I think you pay just for the location. Te reception was very kind and helpful, but the service lady in the breakfast section was impolite with an angry face.Rooms: 2/5
Avoid this hotel at all costs. The rooms are dirty and cold, and the window can't be closed and cold coming inside. We were 4 people, and in the breakfast room were just small tables with 2 people, so I put 2 tables together, she was all the time waiting for us to leave and she run to me to tell in such a stupid way to put the table back. Rooms: Dirty and old
The hotel is basic, but clean. Fine for a short stay. I was disappointed that the room had a door to an adjoining room: the facing door was apparently locked, but mine wouldn’t. I could hear the people in the room next door very clearly. It was equally unnerving to see a louse trap in the wardrobe: I’d rather a trap to louse, of course, but, like the door, it left an unsettling impression.
Stayed for couple of nights here. Pretty reasonable price. Location is perfect. Near to tube stations and various restaurant and placed to eat as well as grocery stores. Being in the Bayswater area is a plus for me and my wife as we are Malaysian and there are tons of good Malaysian restaurants and close to the Malaysian hall/canteen as well. Breakfast selection is basic but sufficient. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Super friendly staff, clean rooms and great location especially if you aren't very mobile. Single rooms however are tiny with little room to move around and a bit cluttered with large desks. Still I love this hotel and always stay here Walkability: Just across from the park. Restaurants are around the corner. Tour buses are 2 mins away.
Very nice small hotel. Rooms were absolutely clean, decent breakfast. Good location, near the Kensington park, restaurants and tibe stationRooms: 4/5
Good localisation, clean rooms, but horribly hot, and no air conditionning, we couldn't even open the windown because of 'security'. We had trouble sleeping because of that. Also the breakfast is very basic, not a single effort.Rooms: 1/5
