This was our first time using a Travel Lodge. We wasn't expecting much as the review rating doesn't reflect the service we actually received. The staff couldn't have been more helpful from the moment we arrived until we left. We ate a main meal and breakfast, both were very good and very reasonably priced. The room was clean and comfortable. The room rate was very affordable. We would definitely use again in the future. Rooms: Room was clean and comfortable Food & drinks: Food was good and very affordable
Decent hotel. Good location. Our room was clean but rather small; twin room, both beds against the wall with only 1 metre between. Bathroom okay, clean, but also small. Staff seemed fine on reception, didn't need to query anything so minimal contact. Great that sockets had USB chargers, really easy to charge phones, tablets etc. With no air-conditioning would be an issue if weather hot; there was a fan which we had on all the time we were in the room.
On the whole the hotel isn't too bad. Everywhere seemed clean. Your standard Travelodge room and a comfy bed. No hair dryers in the rooms...you have to ask for them???? Not sure what was going on with the bedside light switches...you'd need very, very long arms to turn your light on and off from bed. Customer service was a bit hit and miss. Some great, some not so. Breakfast was really good. Good selection and not bad quality.
Room was fine, not unpleasant but clean and comfortable bed. Service at the bar a little slow but the staff were very nice and working extremely hard. Reception staff also really nice. I have no complaints. It's what you expect from a basic hotel.Rooms: 3/5
Very decent rooms, clean and well aired. Lovely staff as well, shout out to Jackie, she was super helpful with storage of our luggage after check out! The breakfast was hearty and tasty! The coffee machine was slow, but made a decent cup of the black wonders. Recommended. Rooms: 5/5
Thank you for a wonderful experience! :> In particular, I'd like to thank the team for being honest about not having a barman to do fresh cocktails. It really added to my experience - knowing that it's more than a profit making business. I also enjoyed my room - had everything I needed, and more a big closet, nice view, and tranquility - which I love and felt really fortunate to have especially since the hotel is quite central and can get noisy So, really, you get a 5 stars experience on a budget. :>
People with allergies beware! It came to my attention during breakfast that the pancakes that are listed as vegan on their menu contain MILK and EGGS. I spoke to more than one member of staff who confirmed the presence of eggs after which I asked to see the allergens list. They did not have that! I then told them that the packet that they get them from should have the allergens on the back. One of the chefs eventually went to find it and showed me on his phone where it was listed milk and eggs. By looking at their menu anyone allergic would not be aware and could suffer a reaction, this is simply unacceptable.
This is a huge Travelodge, and most definitely not our preferred Hotel Brand. The reception area and bar/restaurant is smart enough, however the same cannot be said for the communal areas and the rooms, particularly room 230 which can only be best described as very very tired ! Worn out carpets and furniture that has seen better days !!! And at £120 for the one night hardly a bargain ! The only thing that saved this stay was the breakfast which to be fair was good. So if you want to stay in a lackluster room with pretty miserable staff then this is the place for you !!!
Booked this for a 2 night London break. Typical Travelodge comfortable bed it was a cold room but the heater soon made it toasty. The only criticism was a very cramped bathroom. We didnt eat but we used the bar and it was a good addition. Prices was fair Nearby activities: Close to Kings X. British Library and Museum Walkability: Around 10 minutes from Kings X
Had a wonderful stay at the Travelodge Kings Cross Royal Scot. Perfect walking distance to the train station. Khadim was excellent, honestly the best server at breakfast. If you go there for breakfast say hi and tell him his bestie and best friend sent you! He's the sweetest soul, exactly what you need at breakfast he's sunshine in human form! The hotel room was lovely it was clean, and comfortable. The reception staff were really friendly too. Breakfast was great, lots of choice on the menu and all tasted fantastic. Great stay
