Let's start with the positives: Room was comfortable and quiet. Staff were very pleasant and always available. There is a Costa, Subway and Asda nearby.nThe negatives: Only one lift was working and it was very slow and noisy, sounded like it may breakdown anytime. The key cards are ridiculous; we had so many issues trying to gain access, we had to exchange the card three times, and the last time it did work albeit intermittently. The shower wasn't very powerful. The food is expensive and definitely not worth the price they charge. The Knickerbocker Glory is NOT a genuine one, more like a small glass bowl with one scoop of ice cream, a few slices of banana, cream and a small drizzle of strawberry sauce. The photos we took were taken before we started eating. Not many chips and the burger was not hot. The meal deal says £14.50, a little disingenuous as they add a £1.50 supplement to this.nIf you are parking make sure you enter your registration at the reception as soon as possible.
Situated near estuary and walk to town easy with nice walk to main harbour. Dog friendly rooms but cannot use bar or restaurant which meant we had to go out for all meals. Rooms clean but basic.
Stayed two nights, very friendly receptionists. Double room was overbooked so given a family room instead which was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast both days was excellent, a good choice of full English or Continental. The only issue is the access to the Hotel, poorly lit area to lifts to go up to main reception. Overall a good stay and special mention to Sylvia on reception on check out, very friendly.
It's handy for the town , we chose it so we didn't have to get taxi's to and from the Quay.nHotels ok, entrance on ground floor is shared and smells of stale cigarettes.nStaff are very accommodating, had a few issues with door cards not working and restaurant was closed for maintenance for one evening!!nAs for room maintenance, they emptied the bin, gave us new toilet roll but no fresh towels!nWould use again though.
This travelodge could do with an update. Looking a bit tried. Shower not hot or strong enough. Shampoo etc very poor. Room cards temperamental, had 2 but only 1 worked. Reception staff not all that welcoming and gave no information regarding breakfast. Restaurant area was the only bright point and had everything you might want. We were on the 3rd floor and well away from lifts so was very quite.
