Staff are great in both the hotel and aligned restaurant but everything else is sub-travelodge, not worthy of the Premier Inn name, unless they've plummeted across the board in the last decade?nnRooms were dirty, hairs in the sink, smelled of previous occupants' nighttime shenanigans, bleugh. No duvet, just a thin sheet, fine for me but not for foreign hot country visitors. Rooms old and drab looking, just one plug socket near bed. As for beds themselves, not a patch on the vaunted Premier Inn comfort - rock hard mattress. No air con either but you get what you pay for, oh hold on it was comparatively extortionare... as for associated pub, food was borderline inedible, whole family left most of food. Shoulda gone to McDonalds. . Oh and they've now gone to public-toilet-style toilet roll dispensers rather than a roll, which is just lame.nnOn the plus side, lovely service at both locations, 2x fans were provided in each room in lieu of air-conditioning, TV is pretty decent. Plenty of parking, good location. Spacious room. Bout it unfortunately.
We've stayed at another Premier Inn and really enjoyed it, but not this one.nnWe requested that our room be cleaned one day and returned to find the room wasn't cleaned. After being made aware of the issue, there were no efforts to clean it or to make it right. The next day we requested cleaning as well. The cleaning was very basic - just new towels and emptied trash cans. The beds weren't changed or made, the carpet wasn't vacuumed, trash that missed the trash cans remained on the floor, nothing was tidied. It was bizarre.nnWhile we knew the hotel didn't have air conditioning, no provision was made for cooling the rooms aside from a small fan. The windows only opened around 6 inches understandable for a first floor room but the fan couldn't even be placed in front of the window to draw in the cooler air from outside. Our room was regularly above 27C or 80F with no way to cool it down.nnWhile the room was fine and the location was good, I wouldn't stay here again because of the service.
Staff were absolutely lovely but I’m not sure what’s going on with the cleaning?nWe arrived at 1pm, asked for early check in but the room wasn’t ready, no issue, staff were lovely and let my kids use the bathroom, let us know where we could go around the area. Arrived again after 3pm to be told the room still wasn’t ready.nWe were so tired that I didn’t bother to check and see if the towels and bedding were clean - you’d assume that they would be! I always strip the beds when staying in hotels to make things easier for house keeping but discovered dots of what I can only assume is blood on the bedding and the towels had makeup stains and general dirt. Unpleasant smell in the room and hallway, bathroom in the hotel room seemed dirty too. Curtains were cut as well? Not what you’d expect when you’re paying £150 a night. The staff seemed really busy and were genuinely lovely so I didn’t want to complain as we were leaving. Just hoping the cleaning staff actually do change the beddings and towels since I’ve already taken everything off for them
Not sure what the other reviews were on about. Room was immaculate. Fresh smell to boot. Jo in housing keeping is a gem. Only reason for the 4 is no air con, but there was a fan. The staff are 5 star!
Located close to the bay, there are 2 car stands on either side of Premier Inn but the view across the car park is lovely. Calming water with a view into the Marina. Service was friendly and the breakfast was good. Some of the hot food was low on stock but they replenished it fairly well but it was slow. Staff were friendly and helped seat people quickly. The table clearing was on point and done efficiently. Would recommend staying at this Premier in, it was quiet with the occasional foot fall outside the bedroom doors.
