If you need to catch a train to an airport fromnLondon, before 06:00, check for “outside” or “back” entrances to access the platforms.nnAt Tottenham Hale, this means going left of the well-lit main entrance bus station behind you, Pret to your right to a dark, unsigned “back” entrance.nnWhy you should know this, as a tourist, or have to hunt down a staffer to ask if you’re lucky to find one and who is not in a mood, is not just inconsiderate, it adds unnecessary friction and stress to an already exhausting operation.nnYou might notice it if you come via taxi. Most folks arriving by bus may miss it, as the bus enters from the other direction.nnThe job of travelling to smaller London airports could be so easy but is marred by illogical operations, where planes and trains operate counter-productive schedules.nnLiverpool Street Station should be open from 03:00 - which has never been the case when I’ve attempted travel in the last 5 years.nnClapham Junction opens at 05:30 Gatwick and Tottenham Hale Stansted opens 06:10 - long after the first Airport Express trains have run.nnWhen given the opportunity to share information, a white board is used to send some religious message of hope and optimism, instead of directing visitors to an available gate, the above-described “back” gate.nnI appreciate the renovation and update of the facilities however, this is a simple thing that has clearly happened for years, which should really be investigated and sorted, and considered the utmost priority.
Staff are pretty helpful here , good connections for rail and tube and a pret next door and costa on the platform , there’s wheelchair accsess too , good for prams and suitcases , easy accsess into London , not the safest area do keep your belongings safe at all times , lots of shops nearby and a Greggs too
Tried to access the train platform for Stansted airport early but was only allowed access 10 minutes prior to the actual train arriving! This is ludicrous. Please let passengers gain access to platform well before 10 minutes prior to train arrival. When I approached the staff member too asking why he was strolling out to let us access so late he was really rude and disrespectful to me. He didn’t seem to actually realise he was working. I was shocked at the whole set up this morning. Completely unprofessional - please sort it out. It looks embarrassing for the capital city.
Love coming onto the sauna line great when it’s cold and miserable outside
