Haggerston Station is a small but well-connected stop on the London Overground, tucked away in East London between Dalston Junction and Hoxton. It’s a bit of a hidden gem for commuters and locals alike.nThe station itself is modern and clean, thanks to its 2010 reopening after decades of closure. The architecture is sleek, with a lot of natural light filtering through glass panels, giving it a more open feel than you might expect from a city station. Accessibility is also decent, with lifts available for step-free access.nIn terms of convenience, Haggerston is ideal for people living or working in the area—it’s quiet compared to major stations, which makes for a less stressful experience during rush hour. Plus, you're just a few minutes from buzzing Shoreditch or the Regent’s Canal if you want to take a scenic route.nThat said, there aren't many facilities—no shops or cafes inside the station itself, and limited shelter on the platforms. But with a few local coffee spots just outside, it’s not a dealbreaker.nA clean, efficient station with a calm vibe and great links—just don’t expect a lot of extras.
Hagerstown station was quite similar at platform level to hoxton, it is a brilliant station with everything you need from bike locks to a nice ticket office with friendly staff who are always there to help! Trains were frequent and went to many destinations! A good station and one I recommend to visit as there is an excellent park next to the station!
Really nice London Overground station with lifts available to the platforms. Clean and tidy station with regular services to Highbury and Islington and Canda Water stations. Haggerston station is on a side back street.
Weird guy across the street keeps saying that I'm space ghost and that I'm wanted coast to coast.‍
Update Jan 2024nOnce again, the lifts are not working haven’t been since mid-December and this morning there is no platform read-out displaying train info. Two or three people standing around chatting in the concourse office.nnDisappointing that such a well designed station is so poorly maintained for its users.nn===========================nnAnother morning of Highbury & Islington trains re-routing to Dalston Junction. No announcements from the station ‘comms’ office. You have to get on a train and just risk it because the ‘super hi-tec announcement board’ is so unreliable.nnTotally agree with the previous review - the station is clean, but it is seriously let down by poor service. Fed-up with it. Far more people need to get to Highbury in the mornings, than Dalston Jctn and the trains and supporting announcements should reflect this.
