Plonked in West London’s buzzing Zone 2, is like that mate who’s always got your back but occasionally forgets their wallet. Opened in 2008 with Westfield’s shiny glow-up, this station on the Mildmay Line zips you to Clapham Junction, Stratford, or Watford with Southern trains. It’s a hop from the Central Line, but peak-time crowds can feel like a mosh pit at the nearby O2 Empire. Modern & step-free with lifts escalators are on a holiday until late 2025, brace for 70 steps!, it’s a breeze for accessibility. No loos, though, cross your legs or dash to Westfield’s posh facilities. Grab a coffee at the kiosk, but don’t expect a gourmet spread. Top tip: Oyster or Contactless is king; Cash won’t get you far. Avoid match days at Loftus Road unless you love a sardine-can commute. Clean, functional, but no architectural poetry here. Signage is clear, yet lift outages can sour the mood. The area’s a gem—Westfield shops, quirky Bush Theatre, and diverse eats galore. Watch your wallet, though; crime’s a bit cheeky. A lively, reliable hub with quirks. Pack patience for crowds and a full bladder for the ride!
This was a fantastic station for both arrival and departure, with lengthy platforms for the classic tube services! The wall lining the platform is smooth and the exit has a twisting walkway that is great, signs help navigate around and the area was kept clean.
I have only had to use this station once, due to some mishaps. However, it was very simple, even to me, having never used the overground before. The trains all seemed to be on time, and the station was quite clean, but not perfect, but understandable due to it being outside.nnThank you Shepherd's Bush Overground and London Overground, I hope to be riding you again soon.
The trains to Clapham Junction were running from northbound side for some reason. The staff at station couldn’t be bothered to guide the passengers and were busy with their mobiles at the office. Had to run back and forth between the 2 platforms to catch the train. Poor service.
Good restaurants and shopping nearby but crossing over from Underground to Overground is a pain. The station has some amenities but could do with a toilet. The biggest issue though has to be that this station is serviced by the atrocious Southern Rail. They regularly cancel trains or are delayed sometimes for 10-15 minutes causing overcrowding on the far more reliable London Overground. Give TfL this franchise, it would be run far better by them.
