Been with the practice for years and I have to say, upon seeing the struggle my partner goes through with his practice no appointments/contact for nearly a week, I am so grateful for this practice. I have never had problems getting appointments when I have needed one. The fact you can prebook a telephone consultation, and even book one on the day depending on the urgency of your sitation just brilliant. The staff are generally lovely, just one rude female member of staff I have come across who works in the reception. And doctors and nurses are lovely as well and do a great job.
Worst GP surgery I've ever attended, poor standards on all levels, you can never get an appointment when you need one, the staff never send doctor referrals to the hospital, Frankly I'm glad that I've now registered myself with another GP. Please note that, If Google allowed a zero star rating, I wouldn't have hesitated at giving one but unfortunately this is not possible.. Anyone who is considering on putting their health at the mercy of this practice should think twice.
The worst service I have ever received. I am 9 months pregnant, and have not managed to book an appointment with the doctor. I needed to get signed off work as per midwives advice, but could not get an appointment with the doctors. I suffered from depression yet still could not get an appointment with the doctors. I needed to travel in an emergency and needed a doctors note, still no appointment. When I found out I was pregnant I informed the doctors, they said they will refer me to the hospital, guess what, they forgot. and I missed my 3 month scan. I had to call the maternity helpline and refer myself. I submitted my Maternity Exemption form in for them to send off, went and checked up on the progress a month later, they forgot to send it off and it was still sitting in my file. Once they finally sent it off a month later again it got lost in the post and now I have to submit it again. An absolute joke!
Can't remember the last time I actually got seen within half an hour of my appointment time. At times you can wait for over an hour! Not to mention how hard it is to get an appointment in the first place and how unfriendly and incompetent staff can be when answering the phones. I once had a receptionist argue with me when I had to chase a referral that hadn't been received at the hospital. Protesting she had already sent it seemed more important to her than providing a healthcare service that looks after the needs of it's patients. The hospital had to chase and confirm receipt in the end. I've questioned for years why I'm still at this practice? The best doctor left years ago!
Appointment availability most of the time and doctors are competent and friendly. Can be difficult to get through at times. My 1 gripe is when you do get through on the phone, a few times greeted by a hostile receptionist which when not feeling well can make you feel a whole lot worse and create an unnecessary atmosphere. Very helpful reception staff face to face especially the team leader. If they all followed her lead, would be 5*'s from me.
U can never get a appointment to see your main doctor, I came here as it was nearer to my home, due down to the serious accident I had, an still suffering with now, which needs medication every two weeks, the receptionist are rude an unhappy unhelpful , ie they have still not sorted out my files from my old Doctors it’s now been 6, and no follow up notes from the hospital I was discharged from, 2 months on, God forbid if your late my 5mins, but when you get they for your appointment time you could be waiting up to an hour !!!!!, Please the doctors them self are nice, an caring it’s the frontline that lets this surgery Down, am updating this review 29/3/22 We have been through tough times with this covid, , but with deeper understanding, we all got through, the tollgate lodge surgery has had a name change to Spring Hill Practice 57 Stamford hill London N16 5SR Due to all the changes, I thought it would be better considering the amount of patients being taken on,! EVERYTHING HAS TO BE DONE ON LINE, phone appointments time’s are 8am -10am, worse times to book a appointments is Monday-Wednesday, you can be put on the hold for long periods of time, since covid rules have been so readily relaxed, I find that so strange! Considering how it’s was made to be so deadly diseases, well lest of my rant it’s about, if you’re getting a better service, some of the receptionist are really nice when answering your call, that’s if they had a good day themselves lol, seeing a doctor has not changed, and it’s change we’re now asked by the receptionist why your calling? I don’t like have to tell the receptionist! What’s wrong with me, than you are told the doctor will ring you back at a time that suitable for them, normally between 12-3 or 3-6,, After many years of being in pain, I was finally diagnosed of my illness, am now under the Hospital seeing a Specialist in Rheumatoid Inflammation field. All the signs we’re they, but due to being admitted to Homerton Hospital in November 2021, with severe pain an inflammation in my joints, after a long time, difficulty, and being seen by physiotherapists, my GP finally gave the okay so I can be seen!!! I cried as I have been suffering for a long time, and it’s effectively my metal state, I now walk with aids, an have other health issues, that could have been Sorted! A long time ago! I was told by a team Specialist, that the System doesn’t work the way it should!! Being misdiagnosed can be serious dangerous,!! So I would encourage that if your being seen, an you feel like you are being brushed under, have a second opinion, it’s your legal right to do that, and not give up!
Terrible service from reception. The phones are never answered when you wish to make an appointment. While in the surgery you can see the receptionist actively avoiding answering the phones. When they eventually pick up they are rude and unhelpful. There is only one good doctor at this practice and he is always fully booked. I have a long history or eating disorders mental health issues and attempted suicide you would think they would try to support me a little more but they do not. Letters are sent to them from my dietitian and phycologist and they never respond or get me in to talk about it. The only good thing they done for me was refer me to another surgery other than that this place is hopeless. Change reception staff asap and make more doctors avaliable for neediest patients.
Poor customer service from receptionist as I tried for 2 day to get an appointment to see a doctor as I am prone to chest infection and i am feeling pain in the lung area when breathing. On the phone for a long time, no one answered and eventually when someone did,, I was told there is no appointment. To call back tomorrow and if I can't wait till tomorrow or next week, to go to A& E they are opened right now.
For me after 6 years in London, this is the best NHS practice I had.. there are inconveniences but at least you can get things done. This same day appointments system seems to work although not ideal for those who work and need to arrange the time off.
No care for unwell patients. Disgraceful, rude, lacking compassion reception staff one is lovely - but one in particular acts as though pain and illness are irrelevant and not her business; when ironically as a GP receptionist it actually is! Cannot recommend this surgery unless inadequate care is what you seek. Lazy drs refusing to add more to their work load as they have been too busy , when realistically this isn’t a patient-in-need’s concern. This should be a caring place not a passing off place. Was better before the great Springfield merged with such a shockingly awful Tollgate. 0/10 for this hostile careless Gp centre!
