It’s a nice pub with a big garden but the staff were really slow to serve customers and often rude. The beer was also flat and overall it was a bad experience in what had all the hallmarks of being a good London pub experience.
This was once a great pub but seems to have gone seriously down hill. Food and decent beer are no longer available and the service recently was appalling. A Sunday afternoon with football on and one stressed guy serving. Gave up waiting for a drink after 20 minutes and didn't actually manage to get a drink until half time. Was boarded up a few weeks ago so maybe the new management are not up to the job. Avoid!
What a disappointment. The place has completely gone downhill. It seems like the old tenant is back—and with them, all the problems. No football on the telly, no food service, no internet or phone accordingly to the staff. The venue is filthy, the staff seem demoralised, and the energy that was there last month has completely vanished. What happened to the team that turned this place around? It honestly feels like it’s on the verge of shutting down again. Incredibly disheartening after such a positive turnaround recently.
This is a brilliant pub. They welcomed our 15-people group on a busy saturday with no problems at all. The staff was helpful and polite, the food was good and served quickly, atmosphere was everything you hope for - lovely and warming on a winter night. Nice in summer too with their huge beer garden. They have a pool table which is always a plus. Overall a superb experience!
How this place is only rated 4.0 is perplexing. Lovely staff, really helpful and friendly. Excellent Sunday roast/lunch, open fire, dart board…really good value and a good place to depend a Sunday arvo. Would definitely come again.
