This is a very pleasant pub with a number of advantages. Firstly, location - it sits opposite the beautiful and popular Clissold park, so you can work up an appetite before your visit. On this score it is also very dog friendly, with many customers enjoying the ambience with their four legged companions. Secondly it has a spacious garden, making it an ideal summer time location but also good for the smokers amongst us. Importantly, it is a great spot for watching that most sociable of sports, namely football, with plenty of TVs inside and outside. Then there is the food menu, which includes a number of delicious pizzas fired up in a dedicated oven, along with a number of other interesting dishes. Fortunately the beer is pretty good too. Enjoy.
Caught up with some old friends here on Monday night and whilst it was very quiet in the pub the food and service was excellent. £18 for 2 mains is fantastic value. I got the Chicken schnitty equivalent and a few beers which was a lovely start to the week.
Came in one a weekday for dinner after a lovely walk in the area. For a tavern, they definitely have a very large menu and lots of options for vegetarians too!nnWe ordered the spinach pizza and the aubergine parmigiana - both we quite nice and worth the money!nnThere’s also loads of seating space, which was surprising.
Came for the pub quiz last night. To my surprise it was a different quiz master. She was so much fun, getting the crowd involved, having amazing questions and getting everyone up singing.nWill be back just for her. Food was excellent and the service was lovely.
Lovely spot, just in front of my favourite park :nnThey do good pizzas even tho the buffalo mozzarella they have is average and the service is super quick I suggest you to order directly at the bar instead of via QR code to avoid service charge.nnPet friendly and the show football
