This pub is in the TimeOut top 50 pub list for London and I can see why. On a quiet and pretty backstreet in Hackney, the place feels like home as soon as you walk in. Great selection of beers, effortlessly friendly service and lots of seats to enjoy while you sip on a beer.
Great vibe pub with nice beers on tap. The courtyard or the back is absolutely lovely but closes at 10pm. Staff are lovely and polite about closing time. Hope I can come back for food
Chesham Arms — Pizza, Pints, and Pure ComfortnnChesham Arms is the kind of pub that gets it right without trying too hard. Tucked away on a quiet street in Hackney, it’s got everything you need: cold beer, hot pizza, and a warm, welcoming vibe. Whether you're catching up with friends or just winding down, this place hits the spot.nnWhy it works:nnPizza — thin, crisp, and loaded with flavour often from local pop-ups or rotating kitchensnnBeer — great selection of craft brews, local ales, and classic pintsnnAtmosphere — cozy, unfussy, and full of characternnGarden — one of Hackney’s hidden gems — perfect for sunny afternoonsnnIdeal for casual evenings, spontaneous meetups, or solo chill sessionsnnStaff are friendly, laid-back, and know their regulars
A great pub tucked away...a dear friend suggested it..I'm from out of town & love finding cool pubs...this is one of them. I loved the beer mat art...the showing of it on the wall and being able to do it. I'll return at some point. Huge garden always a bonus.nThere was a super friendly bar man who assisted when my card didn't work...which made feel at ease. And pulled a great Guinness, he talked us through the pizza that's ordered in from place down the rd. This service is always noted in my book...which always warrants sharing...he wasn't judgy or chewing a wasp as I have found some London places...hence the review...highly recommend the Chesham arms, great selection of beverages, welcoming staff, wholesome pub.
What a beautiful pub, I enjoyed the decor, the Brigid stained glass and the 'men to the left' sign.nWilliam Morris designed fabric too.nGreat service.
