Had lunch today with friends at this lovely Kew pub, and had a fantastic time. I had the Sunday roast beef which was delicious: plentiful, nicely roasted potatoes, a large selection of veggies cheesy cauliflower and red cabbage were superb, fluffy Yorkshire pudding with lots of gravy. My friend had the fish and chips and it looked wonderful, as indeed it was. The staff were exceptionally good, charming, funny and very efficient. The bar area and restaurant were very attractive and welcoming.
A great little pub with a great menu. Comfy vibes and pleasant drinks and a great staff! Glad we found it! Friendly people there, too! We made a new friend and had a great time getting to know more about England and London. Pet friendly!
Great location being on the Kew District underground line. Cute setting in an enclosed location. Food was brilliant - we were there for a Sunday roast which was great. Giving 4 stars as the service was definitely far below par and having to pay 12.5% being included in your tab was not appreciated.
The food was cooked to perfection, we had Sunday roast, fish and chips and veggie salad and everything was just unexpectedly good. Flavors with many layers of spices and textures, quality of ingredients - everything came together so well! The service was a bit slow thought because the place was very busy but the food was worth every second of wait.
Very nice atmos, great beer if a little pricey. The burger and chips was very good. Definitely recommend if you want pub grub in a great place.
We stopped here during the summer heatwave on the way back from Kew Gardens. Sitting outside, enjoying good food in a really picturesque environment was a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours. I can't comment what it would be like on a rainy Thursday night in February, but as a venue to enjoy a memorable summer lunch it can't be faulted!
These pubs were once the heart of railway stations. Check out their drinks menus where you'll find interesting classic cocktails to craft beers and soft drinks to hydrate before your journey. There’s parking in front of the station forecourt and along side streets. We wanted a trackside drink after our visit to Kew Gardens. Someone told us that this is a favourite of thirsty commuting City workers. I had their crispy pig cheeks with potato purée, pickled shallots, white wine sauce and chervil, followed by the main course of Hampshire ribeye steak with triple cooked chips and peppercorn sauce. My missus had their steamed halibut with St Austell Bay mussel and clam broth
In London to see Kew gardens - this friendly pub just up lichfield street / great place cool surroundings snd really nice staff. We’ll worth a visit we just had couple bowls of chips which were great but the menu look fab - really nice find
Very nice looking restaurant, lovely atmosphere and it has great efficient staff. The location is perfect, it is right by the Kew Gardens train station and very near to Kew Gardens. The food is amazing and it gets served relatively quickly however it doesn’t have many vegetarian options and it gets quite busy but it still is a great place to visit and I would highly recommend eating here. The image of the train station is a view from the restaurant
Fantastic place! Clever signs all around that make you laugh. Fun staff! Never felt more welcome!
