Staff were alright but a bit disorganised. For simple meals of burger, pie, and fish & chips, it took them 1 hour and 20 minutes to serve our food. The pub was quite empty then so I can't see how they'd mess that up. They pour a nice pint but food quality was just okay. The burger patties were dry, but taste was nicely balanced. I expected a lot from the steak pie as it said it had won awards, but I've had better at random London pubs. On the other, the fish had a delicate batter and was well seasoned. The chips were slightly overcooked but tasty.
Staff polite & friendly, but unable to assist. My husband & I were attending The Carpenters' Story at Richmond Theatre & had planned to have a meal before-hand. Unfortunately the only gluten free meal on the menu was the Chicken & Chorizo, which was sold out. I was directed to their G.F starters: Padron Peppers, House Cooked Nachos, Mini Chorizos & Loaded Triple Fried Chips, I selected the latter, whilst my husband chose Fish & Chips: both were pleasing enough. I find it extremely disappointing that in 2022 in a large establishment in Richmond upon Thames that I was unable to sit down & enjoy a relaxed pre-theatre early evening meal with my husband. We won't be returning.
Just undergone a complete refurb. Warm and inviting retaining its traditional pub feel. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a sandwich and chips which were well prepared and surprisingly filling. A nice stoping place when passing through or shopping. I'm sure we'll be back when next in Richmond. Well done
Very good, large pub, conveniently next to Richmond Station. Excellent choice of beers, decent food and live sport on TV.
One of the best pub in Richmond just outside the station. Had some beer along with chips and fries. It has a garden, wherein you can sit and enjoy. Also, has live sports. The only sad part is that kitchen closes at around 8-8:30pm and you need to enjoy your drinks with peanuts and other packed items, which is available at the counter. Overall, had a good time with my friends.
Lovely place, close to the station, and great lunch deals. We really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the kind staff.
I have been here twice. The atmosphere is amazing, friendly staff. If you love sports this is the place for you with many screens to plot in front of. Not only that we ordered some food and sadly our Mac and cheese bites came cold, once we told a member of staff not only did we get new ones but also a complimentary drink for myself and my partner. Will definitely be coming back here when I am in the area Thank you
Been here on two separate occasions today, first for drinks second time for food and drinks. Friendly staff great atmosphere, had one item of food that was cold amongst several other things that were absolutely fine. Mentioned the cold food and it was promptly replaced along with a complimentary free drink for me and my partner. Lovely place
Three of us popped in at lunchtime for a drink and bite to eat today. The chap at the bar was very helpful in helping us choose a drink, giving his own ranking and offering samples before deciding. Nice touch! Fish and chips served to all of us in around 15 minutes or so. Compliments to the chef here. Fish and batter were exceptional, as were the triple cooked chips. Nice and hot too. Zero complaints and we'll certainly be eating here again. Perfect place to stop after a meet up at Richmond Station.
Lovely pub, very conveniently located nex to the train station. food is OK, I did book a table for boxing day for 7 people but my guest got there first and we're told they can sit anywhere. It wasn't busy on that boxing day afternoon. Slight gripe there were TV's everywhere showing football. There may have been a quiet area that I didn't know about, which would have been more conducive for a Christmas catch up with family.
