I would not recommend anyone stay here. I will not be staying here again. The only good things I can say about this place is it’s in a decent location, reception is courteous and they got me checked in a few hours early. This place is older, which is fine, but it’s just not managed well. My room was smaller than my closet. This place has no AC or elevator. Even when my window was open, it was cooler outside than in my room. They do not serve a free continental breakfast even though they state it. Rooms weren’t cleaned during the day and my bed had two twin mattresses that shifted constantly while I was sleeping. It was honestly more comfortable sleeping on the floor. If you’re looking for a single room that’s cheap with a little to no amenities, this could work for you but I wouldn’t recommend it.
The Somerset hotel is in a great location! We just spent one night here before heading off to our next destination, but the location was perfect. Just off the main drag and near two underground stations, so it was fairly easy to get around. When we checked in at the hotel, George and Ian were very friendly and helpful.
Can do with a dark blind for the room as it was too bright in the morning. Overall was okay. Our room was cleaned and newly renovated. Good thing is you can leave your luggage at the reception for free, which come handy. Recommended!Rooms: 4/5
My daughter and I have just returned from 2 nights here and were happy overall. Positives: Fantastic location Staff on desk helpful Free Tassimo coffee/tea/ hot chocolate in Reception area Bed linen and towels clean Beds comfy although a little soft for me with memory foam toppers Hot fairly powerful showers Generally quiet considering size of hotel TV intermittent Reception and Free wi-fi Negatives: Shabby decor throughout Uneven flooring in room Window: did not lock or even fit well gap at bottom, frame appeared rotten, smashed panes one taped and one boarded and unsafe looking metal balcony/grille outside window Room was very hot whilst we were there but didn't feel safe to leave window open overnight We would probably stay again due to location and value.
One of the best prices for a great location. Also one of the few hotels offering twin bed rooms. The staff is quick to respond and issues are being resolved quickly. Our room was very silent at night no traffic noise. Walkability: The hotel is a few steps away from bus and underground stations. And you‘re practically in Sherlocks office.
Great location, easy to get to from the airport. The staff is super friendly even allowed me to check in early. Would definitely recommend for workers and tourists.Rooms: 5/5
The hotel is in an excellent location, however I would never stay there again. The hallway was littered with bags, doors were missing handles , there were holes in the walls and ceiling and that was before we even entered the room of doom. Our room was tiny, very poorly decorated and in desperate need of repair. The smoke alarms appeared not to be working and the stairs to the fire escape inaccessible. The bathroom had no lock, the shower leaked, the tiny bath stained. There was a hole in the floor and if you were brave enough to wash, there was nowhere to hang a towel. The bed was broken and placed far too close to the radiator. The central heating system however worked very well, so well in fact we both sustained what felt like 3rd degree burns as we squeezed around it. Having survived the radiator we then came face to face with the TV on the wall with its wires fully exposed. Not fancying a night of electrocution we skipped past the TV and got into the broken bed, both squashed towards one side so as not to roll off the other. Amazingly we both managed to get to sleep only to be woken, by what at first appeared to be a poltergeist throwing the 18th century 27foot long curtains in the air, only to discover it was nothing more than the cold January winds blowing through the many holes and cracks in the windows. Needless to say we left very early the next morning and will never be returning.
Booked through OYO, without reading google reviews but when reached they told we're fully booked and don't know how you booked through OYO. Moreover, they charged us double for 2 nights and the rooms was not even worth spending £20 per night. The service was very poor and not even have a microwave.Rooms: 1/5
Stayed here a few times now, great inexpensive option for being bang in the middle of London. Obviously a 2 star hotel isn’t going to be the ritz but the staff more than made up for it. Super helpful, especially Eyyaz maybe not how you spell it. Can’t beat it for the price and location.
No idea why it gets bad reviews. People must expect rizz at hostel prices. The room was clean and pretty big. There is tea and coffee available in the lounge area, and sweets at the entrance. The bed was comfortable, and I had no issues while there. The place is far from perfect, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. I'd definitely stay again. Rooms: Reasonably sized and clean.
