I've just returned from London where I've spent a week. Haven Hotel is a sensational place at an affordable price. The rooms were well-kept, there was a bedspread on the beds but this didn't bother me in the summer. The room with two beds was a bit stuffy but it was equipped with a fan so we saved ourselves with that. Kettle, wardrobes, cupboards, hairdryer at reception, glasses were available. Plus tea, coffee, soaps, shower gels, shampoo. Every day the staff changed towels, cleaned, added toilet paper, restocked and even folded pyjamas! The hotel is located on a bustling street and St. Mary's Hospital is nearby so there are ambulances going one way and another, day and night but I would like to point out that I have trouble sleeping, I had earplugs with me and the noise didn't bother me at all. Special kudos to the staff at reception, every member of whom is super friendly and the girl who accommodated me made me feel at home straight away. All in all, Haven Hotel is a great hotel at an affordable price and in a sensational location. Some people may expect the Ritz but forget the cost they have incurred. My only regret is that I didn't leave a tip but I didn't have enough notes left for which I apologise. I hope to return to Haven Hotel next year and leave a double tip for this : Rooms: Fully equipped rooms with cable tv and most necessary stuff. Nearby activities: Edgware Road Station is nearby, Chelsea and Kesington Boroughs, 35 minutes walk to Notting Hill and Portobello Road, also about 8 min walk from Paddington Station. It's very easy to get from there to most attractive places, museums, Westminster etc. Once I took a walk at night from Piccadilly and it took me 40 min by foot to get back to the hotel.
Hotel full of problems. I stayed in the room 26 that was a kind of dump. The room was in front a common toilet used from staff and beside reception. I couldn’t sleep properly because the bed was awful and it’s very noise very early morning. Internet didn’t work properly the hotel don’t provide even face towels. The location it’s ok. But I saw people selling drugs at the door of the hotel in my first night there. I paid 200 euro for 2 nights for 2 people not even breakfast included. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. Only if you are desperate for a place to stay.
Clean and close to bus and rail links without being overly expensive. Room decoration is not the greatest and is rather basic but that is the only thing I can say about it. Otherwise the staff are lovely and friendly, and the location is good. A great little place to sleep and shower for a London trip. Walkability: Close to the 23 bus24 hourthat goes into Soho for the shows, pubs and clubs. Food & drinks: Close to a lot of different cuisines that are available late.
Cheap and fairly cheerful. Staff helpful enough and friendly. Room a bit shabby- clean, but lots of bits falling apart. Toilet flush only just working, no toilet roll holder, bits missing from the toilet seat, door handle to toilet falling off. Still an ok place to stay, and it is cheap though. Rooms: Small, scruffy round the edges.
I am very disappointed upon arrival to this hotel . I was given room 26 beside the reception. This room is so tiny that I don’t it should even be allowed to be a room, more like a utility room for cleaners. The room has hardly any natural sunlight, no table , no privacy in the bathroom as as the door has holes, the room is right in front of a communal toilet , the view out of the window is of a roof and grey walls. Just terrible . Also, I had to ask for an extra blanket because the double blanket is small for two adults , the bed is very uncomfortable. We asked to change room but we was told there’s no rooms that it’s all booked up.
I would not recommend staying at this hotel, it's pretty bad for the price. Our room, the table and cups were dirty, the bathroom was damaged and we found an ant crawling in the bed as well as a strange hair on my sheets. The duvet was extremely thin and basically just a sheet. We watched the cleaning lady wash the cups in our room with just water when we asked for clean ones. There was no breakfast provided and we were told to leave our keys at the reception every time we went out.
Dirty Hotel room with dirty cups, pubes all over shower: obvious damage to bathroom. Wires hanging from ceiling, unsafe feeling lift, cleaners leaving sheets and products over floor. Had to leave key at reception. Staff were very blunt and not welcoming. Damage to beds and bedroom furniture, bathroom light was damaged and not working. Uncomfortable bed with thin sheets
The staff were professional and really nice - we met around 3 women from the receptionists. The location was great, we had lovely options to have breakfast, to grocery shop and use the public transportation. We needed to switch rooms due to personal reasons. The first one was in the basement but it was spacious, cozy and quiet. Then we used a room on the 1-st or 2-nd floor, it was a bit smaller and we heard all the people going through the small corridor. But overall amazing hotel
Hotel was better than we thought but still nothing special. The room was small but with enough space for 2 hand luggage suitcases. The bathroom was also ok for the size, shampoo & shower gel as well as a hair dryer was provided and we got each day new towels. We also had a window in our room. Unfortunately, it was very loud during the night as the hotel is directly next to a main road. If you prefer a quite night, I cannot recommend it. Staff was friendly. Besides the noice, we liked the area - 10min walking distance to Paddington Station & Hyde park, 15min to Baker Street and 5min to Edgware Road. A lot of restaurants are closed by. Rooms: Small rooms with a separate bathroom. No special furniture - kettle with Tee & coffee + hair dryer and shampoo/ shower gel available. Walkability: 3min walk to Edgware Road, 15min to Baker Street & 10min walk to Paddington Station. Supermarket and restaurants are closed by.
Location of the hotel is good, close to Marble Arch, Hyde park and Oxford Street. Good public transport access. We stayed there for New year celebration. The staff was very nice and helpful. In the reception there was always someone, which doesn't happen at all hotels. Our room overall was good, with plenty of soaps and shampoos. There was a kettle with teas and coffees in the room and a small fridge. 4* for room just because the walls are a bit thin and you can hear your neighbours, stairs are a bit narrow. Would we stay there again? -Yes.
