Lovely escape on a very wet Sunday lunchtime. Excellent vegetarian roast dinner and good beers. Staff were charming, food was very well priced. Atmosphere was cosy and comfortable. Highly recommend.
Unfamiliar with Bristol, we wanted somewhere to eat on a chilly February Monday so popped in about 3pm to enquire about booking a table for later. The small pub was empty but the barman recommended booking so we did. We returned about 6pm and found it heaving - we were so glad we had booked. The meal was delicious: piping hot and cooked to perfection. This is a Greene King pub, not always the most salubrious, but this pub, awarded 'Bristol's Best Pub' for the year 2022, is an exception. There was a wide range of beers to choose from.
Lovely old traditional pub in the centre of town with a good selection of ales and wines. Lots of quirky history to it and a great atmosphere. They have a huge variety of games such as chess, and host a fun quiz every week. Worth a visit if you're in town!
The staff is very nice, the service is quick. The food is tasty we tried the beef&ale pie and fish&chips, with big enough portions. The decoration is lovely. The drink selection also
I visited early today with my family and was impressed by the service! Staff were quick to clear tables and made sure we were happy with our meals. The atmosphere is lovely and I love how there is a list of all the landlords/ladies since 1700s. I will definitely be going back! The food is such good value for money and I cannot fault it at all.
Visited here on 4 occasions while visiting Bristol and really liked it, we had food and drinks atmosphere was great and the staff were really welcoming which was lovely , I would definitely recommend a visit
Good for drinks and dog friendly. I'm always happy to try pub food, but the food here I must say was terrible. Rubbery chicken, all tasted the same, I can see and taste old oil was used to fry. Never ordering food again but will be back for drinks
Staff are the soundest people I’ve met in the service industry. Absolute champs. Above and beyond in terms of service. That Espresso Stout is 10/10. Cheers for your incredibly hospitality. Shout out to the young lad working today who couldn’t have provided better service.
The atmosphere was lovely, if not a little chilly and the roast was wonderful. Took my grandmother there And she was sufficiently pleased as well. Would definitely recommend for a Sunday roast with family.
Lovely pub. Good range of beers, extensive well priced menu and friendly staff. A warm welcome awaits
