Best hop to it if you want to visit the cheapest pub in Bristol City Centre. It'll be closing soon as the owners are selling up. No real ale but dart boards and pool tables and 2 pints of Jewel nitrokeg less than £7. Kronenbourg just over £4 a pint. Decor is reminiscent of a Butlins from 1989 but toilets are clean and there's a nice view of the church one side and a bit of the harbour the other. I'll be sad to see the place go. It's a lot cheaper than the hotel next door.
Bloody loved it in here. Looks untouched from about the '80s. Great mix of people young and old. Friendly bar staff, 2 pool tables and a darts board. Shame owner is retiring/ selling up. Hopefully new owner retains the character and just spruces it up a bit.
went to the pub with two service users for a few games of pool as the socialisation is great for their mental health and wellbeing. one service user had bought a drink and we had already paid for the game of pool. rude bar lady told us this isnt a social club and said we all need a drink. the pub was empty apart from us and i explained to her this and how we always used to come here for a few games and we have already paid for the game. the rude bartender said “well i guess you’ll have to finish this game and then leave”. i asked if i also bought a drink 2/3 of us would have a beverage would we be able to stay for a few games. she said no and then started whispering about us to the other worker. extremely rude disgusting behaviour, will not be going back. old managers were way nicer.
A typical city bar with a traditional feel of the English modesty. Good beer, nice ale, very pocket friendly.
Called in with friends for one drink after work, was pleasantly surprised! Price's were reasonable and staff very friendly, will definitely be going back!
Intriguing pub from the outside, but leaves a lot to be desired. Went for a Sunday roast - despite not being particularly busy, they claimed to have sold out within 30 minutes. We managed to get roasts just in time, but they took a further 90 minutes! to arrive. Staff are generally very slow, and it feels very much like a 'locals' pub'. Main positive is the low prices, but I'd still unlikely to return.
As long as you arrive with the right expectations this is a great pub. But dated, but that's part of its charm. Proper looking pub inside. On top of that, you can expect a warm welcome and an absolutely cracking roast dinner!
Nice pub lovel ladie serving. Will definitely call back if in the area.
went in for Sunday lunch just in time to get a table. it seems this pub is quite popular, many tables were already reserved. so we were lucky to get an open one. we had a choice of roasts,my wife had beef and I had pork. the meal was great, well cooked and flavoursome. really enjoyed it
Not bad but could do with a little bit of love and attention
