Plus-points: Sky TV, plenty of pans in kitchen, good size dining table. Unfortunately, cleanliness was not at a level I would expect of such a rental. The moment we arrived we knew that something wasn’t right, as there was an enormous amount of refuse piled up outside the front door. Then, on turning the oven on, we were then faced with the problem of the downstairs areas being filled with a revolting smell, caused by the smoke that poured from the oven, because it was so dirty. We went and bought scented candles to improve matters. There were carpeted areas that needed hoovering, mould patches in rooms, all the kitchen drawers need to be emptied and cleaned out etc. Carpets and upholstery throughout the property are badly stained and/or poorly cleaned, furniture (such as the sofa) is damaged and being supported by books! I do not wish to cause any offence to the owner and I have never written a low scoring review as far as I can recall. However, if renting a property, you must keep the standards high and at the very least in line with the expectations of guests and the costs charged. The property isn’t cheap! I have asked for recompense that has not been forthcoming. I understand the property is for sale which may explain why no one appears to care about the condition of the property anymore. The pictures speak for themselves really.
