We didn't stay here, but we had food and drinks. We had the burgers, with the scampi on the side. The food was lovely, everything was hot and very generous portions, the burger was of excellent quality and very tasty. The service we received was friendly and efficient. We had a nice bottle of wine and another drink whilst listening to the Jazz group that were playing on the Friday evening, again very enjoyable. We also visited again  the next day in the afternoon for a few drinks. The staff here are very friendly and  we would like to say thank you for the wonderful hospitality they showed us. We will definitely be back and look at staying at The Old Black Lion in the future. Would definitely recommend

Absolutely delicious Sunday lunch. Price was really reasonable and couldn't believe how busy it was. Was particularly impressed with the wine list.nWe brought our large German shepherd with us and the layout was really good for those with dogs, we didn't feel shoved in the corner. They were also really patient with us whilst he settled down into the environment.

Pre booking is a must for the roast on Sunday- and it was clear to see why. Has to be one of the best Roast lunches I have ever eaten. Presentation was on point, meat cooked to perfection, portion size was hearty. Amazing stuff. Staff were polite, attentive and always on hand. 5 stars well deserved

We recently had a family dinner at The Old Black Lion the night before our wedding, and many of our guests stayed at the hotel for the weekend. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect.nnThe food was incredible, everyone commented on how delicious their meals were, and the staff were so warm, friendly, and attentive. James couldn’t have been more accommodating; nothing was too much trouble, and he made sure everything ran smoothly.nnThe hotel itself was fantastic. Our guests were so happy with their rooms and the wonderful hospitality they received. We have stayed at The Old Black Lion many times before and knew it would be the perfect place for our family and friends to stay while celebrating our wedding at The Globe, and it truly was.nnThank you, James and the whole team, for making our weekend extra special. We can’t recommend The Old Black Lion highly enough. The people, the food, and the atmosphere are just outstanding.

Heard great things about the Sunday lunch here and finally made it for a birthday meal.nDid not disappoint, lovely food and great service from start to finish.nThoroughly recommend and will be going back x
