Lovely stay, great staff, cozy bedroom and lounge areas. Good breakfast. Lovely garden. Dinner main course lamb was quite small and at £29 quite expensive.nStrong and pervasive diesel smell on the street outside over the weekend especially the Friday made me cough. Most unpleasant. That's not the hotel's fault - apparently it's the urban canyon effect where diesel from deliveries on Fridays - especially in the wintertime - settles in the town and can't escape. Ugh, really strong. Luckily it didn't penetrate the hotel interior.

Stayed last night after a wonderful wonder around the bookshops. Great service, and lovely rooms. Very comfy bed and completely silent night. We had an issue with dinner but it was dealt with swiftly and professionally so didn't ruin our stay. Food was yummy and had the best hot chocolate ever here! I would definitely return. Such good value for money and perfect location. Ignore the negative nancies on here, the swan is worth a stay!

What a  wonderful weekend away for my daughter and myself staying at this amazing place The Swan At Hay. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly always attentive without being over the top.Our room was immaculate, beds sooo comfortable.nThe food well - that was sooo good also.. We both had dietary issues which were well catered for.   Thank you Tina you were the icing on the cake.  We hope to see you again  soon.nJane and Beth. x

We have just come back from a wonderful stay at the Swan at Hay. Lovely food, great location, comfortable rooms but the best part of our stay was the staff. They were so attentive and friendly. They made us feel so welcome and ensured that we had everything that we needed. Well done to the amazing team.

We had Christmas lunch at at The Swan today. The food was lovely. We had an ample amount of meat and vegetables, all cooked well. The service was superb from Adrian and his team, and it was real value for money. We cannot fault it.
