What a lovely homely place to come across on our way home avoiding the motorway. There was no shortage of customers enjoying the home cooked meals. My husband and I chose the lunchtime special of 2 courses for a very reasonable 11.45. I enjoyed pate to start followed by a beef roast dinner. The beef was delicious and the vegetables were fresh and we'll cooked. We were very happy with everything x
So sorry we got stuck in traffic and arrived 10 minutes late. Never been before and wouldn't really choose to go again. You were not made to feel welcome. Girls that served on polite but that was it. Food was nothing special. My choice was very bland i.e. pasta dish that the pasta had nearly turned to must. Wouldn't recommend unless you were local.
Welcome was friendly, good to see a real fire burning as it was cold outside. Menu choice is reasonable. Service was good, food well presented and of quality. Prices are a little on the high side for this type of restaurant and location. Still worth a visit.
Good home made food. Charming pub. Not many left like this now so it was a very nice change to visit and enjoy its great character. Staff lovely. Puddings to die for !
Ridiculously over priced even though it's in a nice area. 14 pounds for an 8oz gammon steak and chips and egg! I know it's a nice area but you can't justify that. Nice inside and out but very dated and slow

Unfortunately we were told last weekend the pub was closing and unlikely to reopen. Another local pub disappearing. In some villages people don't realise what they had till it's gone.
Lovely old style pub, super friendly staff and good food and good prices
Had a lovely meal - been many times over the years and never disappointed.
Great food and a great oldie world pub atmosphere
