'We'll be back' says it all. Great local gem. Amazing, fresh food. 5 out of 5 guests were very happy with their meals. We had a burger, gammon, Sunday roast, cheese and onion pie and fish of the day sea bass, ice cream, honeycomb cheesecake and brownie. We were very nicely surprised by, not only food, but nice homey deco and very helpful and professional staff. Everyone from my 11 year old daughter to my friend who celebrated his 80th birthday loved this visit and couldn't praise enough. Fresh, tasty, well presented... We will come back for more;
Very friendly welcome by the staff, food was decent, beer was good. Dog friendly too and the log burner was a joy, sat right next to it to warm up after a walk. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be back.
It's a nice place and the staff were lovely. Wasn't much on the menu that I particularly liked but I am fussy. My friends all enjoyed the food so it is just me. What I chose was the ploughman's platter which was presented lovely and quite substantial. Certainly couldn't go wrong with that. Overall pretty good.
We both had chicken wrapped in bacon with motzerella,with a taragon sauce , new potatoes and four vegetables,it was cooked and presented perfectly. Probably one of the best pub lunches I've eaten in a very long time.
Four of us had Sunday lunch today.We rang to say that our walk was running late for the booking but this wasn't a problem.We all had the Sunday roast beef which was excellent and the accompanying vegetables were also excellent.Service was friendly and efficient in a cosy atmosphere.Thank you all at Hare and Hounds.
We just stopped for a lunchtime pint in this warm and cosy traditional village pub. The menu looked fantastic as well with varied menu!
Lunch for five, seated in the conservatory. Lovely pub, nicely decorated and furnished. Clean toilets. Friendly competent service. All the meals were tasty, well cooked pub grub and good value. Nothing fancy but some good options. The Steak and Ale pie and the Falafel burger were particularly enjoyable. Selection of ales and wine, and good coffee. Dog friendly, so we'll be back after a dog walk soon,when that stove's lit!
Made to feel very welcome by both staff and landlord, what a lovely man. I'm in a wheelchair and found the access into the pub very easy. Front door easily drove my wheelchair through. Food was beautifully presented, hot and plenty on my plate. Will definitely be returning and would recommend without hesitation.
Even though I've more or less accepted the fact that gastronomy in England is significantly differentworse from mainland Europe, I still can't put up with the unhealthy greasy fast foods served in restaurants and pubs. My intention is not to be negative, so I rather praise things I enjoyed. Staff in The Hare & Hounds is very friendly and kind and in general, it's just proved me, that hospitality and kindness of people is on the opposite side as the quality of gastronomy in UK. Atmosphere is very local, decor traditional old postcards on walls made me happy, with back garden full of additional seats, greenery and water elements. I enjoy everything except of a food. We ordered two sharers, both for around 28£ and ate almost everything, because we don't support food waste. Sadly, food wasn't good at all. Extremely greasy - swimming in oil, not creative, tasteless, bland. My stomach felt heavy until the next morning. Sauces were not bad. Compared to fast food chains. While I rate food 2/10, I would give staff and enviroment 9/10, so 3 stars are fair.
Lovely country pub and restaurant in Crowton Cheshire. The Sunday Roast was tasty. My only criticism is whilst sitting in the ample benches outside to enjoy the spring weather, my meal cooled off a bit too quickly . For a few extra minutes of heating would have been ideal. But overall, friendly, good service pub to meet friends for a drink or meal. Ample parking too.
