This is a family-friendly pub with good food. An ideal stop-off if you're travelling the canals and mooring up ready for an early morning boat return to Anderton Msrina, or to visit the Anderton boat lift
Popped in during a heavy rainy day. The place was empty but the staff were very accommodating. There were three real ales on. Food was lovely, I had the steak and ale pie, excellent. Not the best day for a true appraisal of the establishment but I did manage to get the boat moored up at the jetty. There is enough room for two boats.
Brilliant food and we be back now I know they are dog friendly in bar, and options of smaller portions. The fish ciabatta was enough for two so wrapped half up for later. Delicious though! Would like a vegetarian option or two.Food: 5/5
The food was beautiful. Can't fault it. One of the nest meals I've had in a long time. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that some of the waitresses were very rude. Everything seemed a problem. When we asked for 5 more minutes to look at the menu we were criticised because the "kitchen need to know now so they can cook it." Eye-rolling etc. Hopefully it was just a bad day and if definitely go back because the food was lovely
Absolutely outstanding food I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, the service was exceptional too. A great lunch with the atmosphere of a traditional English pub, which was great Superb all round
Beautiful meal , great service and lovely location. Pub garden looks very inviting ! Many thanks. We enjoyed our lunch very much! Went back a few weeks later and had the ciabatta with steak and onions- very nice.
Perfect steak and ale pie with chips and gravy after a very long walk. 1st visit here, lovely friendly staff. Nice atmosphere tooFood: 5/5
Fab food and excellent service young man helped me to take our meals to the boat via tray in the dark. Outstanding example of what customer service means
Excellent food, piping hot and well presented, served by very friendly staff. Quiet location by the canal with a huge garden to relax in. Definitely to be recommended.
Good food& drink. Pleasant surroundings inside & out. Dog friendly outside. Quiet lunch in the sun. Will go again soon. Close to Anderton boat lift with bridge over canal for walking to pub. A fine way to end your walk at Marbury or Anderton. Pity soot hill is closed but worth the detour drive.
