Biggars newest hotel. We are delighted to welcome you to our family run hotel in the heart of Biggar.

Story

The Kirkstyle Hotel is a family owned boutique hotel in the very heart of Biggar, each of our rooms have been individually designed and the beauty of turning an old Victorian building into a hotel means each of our rooms are unique.

Biggar is a historic market town and had been a Royal Burgh since 1451. It still retains is medieval layout and the main street is lined with centuries-old houses. Biggar has associations with various historical figures, such as William Wallace and Bonnie Prince Charlie.

Stayed at the Kirkstyle for 2 nights to attend a wedding. On arrival we were shown to the Albion Suite. It all looked fine although the furniture looked a bit tired, the bed was clean and comfortable but the room was in general need of a good dusting. The bases of the lamps and bulbs were quite thick with it. The bathroom was in need of a good clean also as some things I touched felt ‘tacky’nTea and coffee making facilities were available but weren’t refilled the following day, the bed wasn’t remade either not that we hadn’t already made it before we went outnThe more positive side is that although the hotel is on the High St it was very quiet. The young staff at breakfast were lovely and the breakfast is delicious. I’m veggie so had the full vegetarian breakfast which was more than enough to set you up for the day My husband had the waffle which he too found plentiful. On the whole it’s a nice place and would be even nicer if housekeeping got on top of exiling the dust!
We stayed 1 night as we were at a wedding at the cornhill castle, which is only 5mins drive away. Staff very friendly, rooms were ready early so we could throw our stuff in. The breakfast was nice next morning and staff again very attentive as we had couple children with us. The room was beautiful, spacious, clean and I must say I was worried about maybe smelling a bit due to being pet friendly, not at all!
We stayed at the Kirkstyle as we were attending a wedding at the Cornhill Castle nearby. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so enjoyable, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast every morning was delicious. A special big thank you to Eddie the Manager who went out of his way to help us with a medical emergency, so kind and so helpful.
In reply to your recent message, it was Sarah who had offered the deal for 2 nights, and Tom who had asked me to call the hotel but when I called he couldnt offer the deal as he couldnt find our booking or any message and he wasn't the most friendliest of people tbh. I shall forward the messages in an email to you for your information. After the call with Tom we decided to cancel our booking and received a confirmation.
Lovely place in a lovely location. The Taj Mahal, the Indian over the road is fantastic if you are in late, can't recommend both places enough
