Beautiful hotel. For those travelling with public transport, it is 5 minutes walk away from bus stand. If you love art, you will definitely enjoy the hotel, especially the ceramics both as their dining plates and cups as well as decoration in the rooms. The hotel has been renovated 3 years ago and done with a lot of taste and eye for detail. Free glass (!) bottles of water in the room. Breakfast is cooked to order and well done. Restaurant has good views on Portree's harbour. Has similar experience that booked room with a view but were told they were all taken and got room with view on wall and vegetation. Anyway enjoyed the stay. One danger: shower has identical taps for hot and cold as well as for changing from rain shower to handheld shower. If you accidentally take the wrong tap, you get piping hot water over you!

Unexpectedly food quality hotel. Decent size rooms and bathroom that make your return to the hotel after tiring day exploring Scotland, very pleasant. Breakfast was lush! With many options, fresh pastries and fruits - set you in good mood for the day. Close walking distance to the Portree harbour and pubs. On a pricey side but sometimes you just deserve to spoil yourself.

Asked for a quiet room, given a back room, overlooking the employee smoking area. Also had the motor from the cold room right outside our window, which would come on regularly, and was really loud. But the worst noise came from other guests. Drunken idiots stomping up and down stairs, running between rooms, and making ridiculous amounts of noise. This is more of a hostel than a hotel. Hardly slept at all. The most expensive room on our holiday, and by far the worst.

The first thing a traveler encounter when entering a Hotel is the User Experience, how the Receptionist is welcoming the client. In this case I am sorry to say this aspect was disappointing. We booked and paid for a room with views but when we arrived the Receptionist showed us a room with a view to the backyard, nothing pretty. I told the receptionist this is not fair since we paid for another type of room. But she said that if we want a room with view we should pay 20 pounds more. It was just annoying! Rather than the first negative impact I must say the hotel is fancy, the room was very clean as well with rustic details which was charming. What I loved the most about this hotel was that all the washing stuff, like shampoo, hair conditioner, body lotion and soap were ecological and vegan, which is the first time I experience this in a hotel. The tee was ecological as well. The sad thing was the that teapot did not work so I could not enjoy the tee with my "nice" view to the yard:-)). Regarding the food and the restaurant all I have to say is pure perfection!. The restaurant had views to the harbor and that was magic, seeing the sunrise while having a delicious breakfast. They prepared a special vegan dish for me which was astonishingly delicious. In the morning the breakfast was included and oh man, they had even smoothies and this kind of stuff is heaven for a vegan. They also prepared a vegan tortilla for me so I can take it away on the road trip. The waitresses were so kind and thoughtful. So I totally recommend this hotel. But please make sure you get the room you booked for:-)

Terrible stay at The Bosville, reminiscent of staying in a youth hostel. We barely slept during our stay because our room, supposedly quiet, was anything but. First, there was a compressor running right outside our window, all day and all night. Even ear plugs couldn't block the sound. Staff smoked and talked loudly outside our window until the pub closed late at night. Other guests were very loud, stomping up the stairs, slamming doors, partying in their rooms. Calls to the night porter went unanswered. Bed was small, (as in husband's feet off the bed) and we are not tall or large. Room stank of BO/damp. We couldn't shower the first night because there was no water pressure - couldn't even wash soap from our bodies. The receptionist, however, was lovely and helpful, and had the shower serviced, though it still ran hot and cold. Parking is only really available on the outskirts of town, so not suitable for people with mobility issues. Breakfast was ordinary at best, with unrefrigerated yoghurt and drinks, despite heating being quite warm inside (and definitely above the recommended 6°C). They kindly pack breakfast if you are leaving early, but there was no cutlery for actually eating things like the yoghurt. This experience was laughably bad - I don't think the room we stayed in should even be rentable, let alone $300AUD per night (even on expensive Skye).
