I couldn’t fault my stay at Portree Hotel, the room was immaculately clean and the hotel is central in Portree.nnThe breakfast was also lovely.nnIf there was one small bit of constructive criticism I could offer, it would be to freshen up the second floor stairwell with paint, due to all the traffic of guests this will cause these areas to get marked, but this did not affect my stay at all, just a bit of advice.nnI’d recommend anyone to stay there.
The hotel is ok, nothing wrong with my stay. Unfortunately, the staff in the restaurant could improve their skills and sense of hospitality. I finished my dinner but I wasn't even allowed to finish my drink - a waitress simply handed me a bill despite the fact that I didn't ask for it. The message was clear, so no problem - I won't spend a penny in this place anymore.
This was our favorite stay of our 10 day UK visit! We stayed one night wanted to stay longer but they didn't have the availability in a 3 person room. The room was big enough for us all plus our luggage. The bathroom was huge with a bathtub and a shower which was nice. Breakfast was included and was delicious and filling. Overall, the hotel still has the charm of an older building while having the benefits of some modern updates. Highly recommend staying here if you have the chance!
We went to Portree making the trip from Mallaig to Kyle of Lochalsh using the buses on Skye to connect our rail journey. The bus station of Portree is just outside the hotel. The staff were really friendly and allowed us to leave our cases whilst we walked in the town and we booked lunch. It was a very nice light meal of soup and sandwich and the beer was good and well kept. It was good value and the service was friendly and professional. Can't comment on rooms as we moved on to Kyle in the afternoon.
We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The rooms are well maintained and give a cosy and warm feel. Breakfast service requires you to select a slot as it gets busy and they have limited staff. They have good range of choices for breakfast. We had reserved a table at the time of check in for the dinner, next day we forgot to reserve and had to struggle a lot to get dinner. So reservation is a must.nWe will have fond memories of our stay here.
