Visited the chapel in the Mary Stanford building. A well set out Catholic chapel with Anglican services. A multi purpose and Muslim prayer room is provided elsewhere in the building. There are several war memorials at the entrance and an intriguing sign to a painting of Sir Alexander Fleming, which has been located elsewhere. The chapel has fine stations of the Cross and stain glass windows. A quiet place in a busy hospital.
The staff at St Mary’s were incredibly helpful when our baby needed an appointment for physiotherapy. They set up regular sessions, free of charge, of course, and made sure we were doing the exercises as instructed as an outpatient. In total we visited 4 times in as many weeks and each time was a good experience. It is a testament to the doctors and nurses who tended to us and we appreciate their efforts to help. Would definitely recommend!
Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you for how quickly I was helped as a tourist. I was totally exhausted and went straight to the emergency room because I was about to collapse. I was treated by a young lady, unfortunately I don't know her name. She was blonde and extremely nice, you could tell how warm-hearted this woman was. I'm not used to anything like that from Austrian hospitals. I didn't even have to pay for the treatment, which really surprised me. I deduct one point because it wasn't that clean and was a bit run down.
I was admitted to this hospital following an accident. Several of my valuable personal belongings, including electronic items, went missing. Other patients reported missing items too. In retrospect, we should have reported directly to the police, rather than trusting the hospital to investigate the matter. I strongly urge others to report even minor missing items to the police *immediately* and to document the names of all staff on duty. This issue is not isolated, but reflects a broader culture in NHS hospitals, unfortunately.
Excellent experience the staff and doctors were excellent, I was treated with a great amount of support and understanding. They were busy but highly efficient I have never been more impressed with a hospital experience before. My doctor was excellent and I really can't praise this hospital enough.
Horrifying experience in A&E. I was diagnosed with Hypermesis Gravidarium during my pregnancy. I was vomiting blood relentlessly in the waiting room with no food & water in over 24 hours. Nurses have a disgusting heartless attitude. There was 3 beds available right in front of me, but they claimed there was none available. Left me in a wheelchair overnight at 3.5 months pregnant. They also put me on the drip and neglected me. Blood was pouring out of my arm. After 11 hours in a wheelchair, my husband had enough and demanded a bed for me to lay down in as there were empty beds in front of me. The patient before me had pooed in that room and it needed a deep clean. The nurse lied and said that it had been deep cleaned when it hadn’t. The smell was horrendous, and as I was vomiting constantly, I could not enter the room. The room next door had been thoroughly cleaned and I requested to go into that room but was denied. I had been nothing but polite and respectful to all members of staff as I was feeling very vulnerable and did not want them to abuse me. Lastly, nurses also walked past me and other patients complaining about how “annoying” the patients were. Unbelievable experience. I was neglected tremendously. If ever you go to this hospital, please take a family friend with you, the staff is NOT to be trusted - especially some of the nurses. Be careful please.
My dad was in hospital when I phoned up to check one of the nurses on a ward did not want to talk to me about his health. She did want to talk to she only wanted to talk to my younger sister who doesn't live with us. This really effected my mental health and made me feel like I was nothing. On the I saw that they let more than one daughter talk to the nurses and doctors. I was not allowed to talk to either one of them.
My experiences going to my favourite hospital st Mary’s I must telling everyone my story real and honesty I have my opinion about the hospital, before I go I look in my angels book and I asked my God and my angels if the doctor gointo give me a good result yes are know and my answers was yes ,the doctor where such a lovely personality I make she laughter when I was on the bed my dressing hahahaha I putting two panti on she say why I say I think is was a man doctor did going my Hepatology test so when Georgia Barkley she is a star she love her, job from the bottom from her so thank God my results was the answer that my angels tell me she make me feel comfortable so,the reviews that I am giveing it involves Rolyence ViJaha, AJ MARiE because they work as a teamwork so I could not leave them out but I can tell you the loveing I get from StMarys Hospital I beloved I visit dear for accident my two shoulder the 18 bus driver close me in the doorway so I scare when I travel on ENEY bus because I have to have a seat on the bus i cannot get a seat and standing then I got to go the hospital I book up to have fizotheripery at my doctors but the doctor refused to do it because I was late for the visit because of trafficking on the street, so Confused to all the Doctors and nurses, and the cleaners, THE NHS IS A MIRACLE WORKERS SO GOD PROTECTED ALL OF THEM, AND PEOPLE MUST STOP TALKING BADLY ABOUT THEM PLEASE HAVE RESPECTED,THEM GIVE THEM PAY THAT THEY DESERVE,I LOVE YOU ALL HAPPINESS JOYFUL PEOPLE ARE STILL AROUND STOPPED THE RACIST ABUSE,I LISEN HOW SOME PEOPLE CURSE THEM,ESPECIALLY SOME PEOPLE COME TO THIS COUNTRY ON HOLIDAY,THIS MUST STOPPED,Euphemia Christie
Consultant led care here is PHENOMENAL and exceptional. They are empathic, efficient and care greatly for their patients. Once you're in the system and get seen they take great care of you. Unfortunately, however, the A&E Department lets this place down. I had an 8 hour wait one night when I was in agony and was treated very rudely by nurses there. The locum Dr from an agency was dismissive and misdiagnosed me, he didn't bother to examine me. I complained and received an apology, so I appreciate that. They are a major trauma unit and maybe too busy to deal with other issues, so I'd recommend the A&Es at Northwick Park, Ealing and Charing Cross. It's a shame to write this, as I have a very high opinion of the meticulous work of the rest of the hospital, they truly care about their patients. It's sad that their A&E is not representative of this. A huge thank you to all the consultants I have seen here in various departments as an outpatient, who have been very kind, supportive and given me prompt treatments and scans.
I have never encountered such a heartless attitude. I was brought by ambulance in a lying position, on August 30, 2024 at 17.00. I was promised that I would be given a lying place, since I felt terrible. I had severe poisoning, possibly caused by a virus. I had a very bad stomach ache, there was also severe vomiting from which I was already choking because I could not control it and diarrhea, a high temperature, I was freezing and had a lot of pain and dizziness. The ambulance was able to bring down the temperature and stop vomiting with medication, but not for long. When they brought me to the hospital, they sat me down on a chair and said that they would help me. I sat on the chair for about 2 hours, I was not given the help I needed. The pain in my stomach was unbearable and after a while I lay down right on the floor next to the chair. After some time they came up to me and measured my blood pressure, making sure that my heart was beating, they asked me to return to the chair again, since it was not allowed to lie on the floor. I cried from the pain and tried to explain that I needed to lie down. In response, I only received ignoring. An hour later, I called my husband to tell him the situation and ask him to call me a taxi, since my condition was worsening. I was very afraid that I would start vomiting again at the same time as diarrhea and no one would help me here. Having heard my conversation, the medical staff decided to take blood from me. Unfortunately, the nurse did not use the catheter that the ambulance installed. They took blood from a new place on my other arm, now there is a bruise in that place. I already believed that they would help me, that they paid attention to me. But they still ignored me. Another hour passed, I could no longer remain lying on the floor and decided to go home, I told the medical staff about this and asked them to remove the catheter from my arm. Five medical staff members refused to remove the catheter from my arm. The rest of the staff pretended not to notice my plea for help. Unfortunately, the needle was inserted into the bend of my elbow, which made it difficult to bend. I had to pull the needle out myself. The medical staff, without helping me, kindly showed me where the exit from the hospital was. When I got home, I started vomiting again, had diarrhea, my temperature rose and my condition worsened. My husband had to go to the Boots store for medications; the pharmacies were already closed by that time. I am still in a bad bedridden condition. I suffer from nausea, diarrhea and a high temperature. I have pain throughout my body and bones. My blood pressure is 88 to 56, my pulse is 60, and my vision goes dark when I try to get up.
