I went last Wednesday for a Smir test and I had the worse experience at this hospital. The nurse that was on the shift from 6:00 p.m 9:00 p.m was a total nightmare. She didn’t even have the courtesy so call me in a mannered way but instead she had no problem on rudely screaming my name from her desk. She asked me in a very rude way was she can do for me and then refused to perform the test because I have had it last year and they only do it every three years. When I explained to her that I had a history in my family and I couldn’t wait that long, she said that I should talk to the Minister of health and that they will probably tear the disease when it was happening. I have now words to express this bad experience, thank God she didn’t perform anything on me. Please don’t go there, I should have read the reviews before going to this terrible place.
I visited the Nurse at this hospital a couple of weeks ago an a Saturday morning. She was very pleasant friendly to talk to. The hospital is lovely and clean.
Imagine a hospital that you cannot contact by phone apart from the mental health dept. and you have the perfect example in St Charles Hospital. Unbelievable though it might be they DO NOT HAVE A PHONE NUMBER FOR THE PUBLIC. This sounds as if it is at best poor practice, at worse verging on the illegal. Outrageous.
We had to visit the Mental Health Ward of St Charles only once as far back as 2019 as a family member was sectioned. An unfortunate experience we've had many times prior. The help we received via Casey, the lovely Mental Health Professional was amazing. She'd read up the medical history, and given tips and ways to ensure a smoother way via a Community Trust Order to avoid having to go via the Police to get a Schizo-patient the help she desperately needed. We saw 2 young boys in the same predicament only 2 days ago, and was glad I could share some of the tips. I can't thank Casey and St Charles enough - she's honestly worth her weight in gold, and has made the process more manageable.
Visited the Ultrasound Dept : I was a bit apprehensive visiting here having read some of the reviews. Without a shadow of a doubt, I came across the most friendliest and professional people from start to finish. In addition to that, a few minutes after I had left, the receptionist called me to let me know that I had left my glasses there. What a great team. Well done guys!
I visited the Urgent Care centre, and got an appointment quickly. I was seen by Eileen, who was incredible she made me feel very comfortable and helped dress my injury and check for any serious damages. She gave me some great tips too.
Extremely unprofessional woman named Maureen at reception, she's an older black woman usually has a short black wig on. Completely ignored me whilst I stood at the reception desk and said Hi. She knew I was there but carried on talking about her social life with the other receptionist sat next to her. When the other receptionist stopped speaking and looked at me, the one with the short wig gave me the dirtiest look and just stared at me. Didn't respond to me or even speak to me, just stared at me in disgust. Please tell me why you keep this woman employed! She is the most unprofessional receptionist I have ever come across, and this isn't the first time she's behaved like this. There are many people looking for receptionist roles, give someone who actually values their job a chance, instead of someone with such a vile nature.
My issue is with some of the staff in the cafeteria who seem to have a very bad attitude problem. I have been a few times and some of them are disgustingly rude and unprofessional. Telling me the cafeteria was closed when it wasn't. The rest of the staff elsewhere are great but the cafeteria no. Rude behaviour

Helpful polite staff, who take pride in their jobs and go out of their way to help in any way they can.
