Was sent here for a chest x Ray. It was not easy to find. I walked from Barons Art tube station and a local kindly directed me through the cemetery to a back entrance so I got there quickly in the end. I arrived early and was seen immediately and got my results by text a couple of hours later. Enjoyed the artwork and shop. Wished the escalators had been working and the lifts more efficient.
The hospital appeared clean and well kept. Visited the chapel and the history zones setting out the generation of hospitals on the site. Of note, details of David Livingston, Florence nightingale, some interesting brass plagues which previously hung over beds paid for by donors including a nameless medical student etc and some fine ceramics of various country scenes.
My appointment with a consultant was a rather negative experience for me: the doctor communicated two specific instructions to me and I feel negative about one of the instructions, not least because she was insulting my intelligence. Also, the doctor previously had promised to me that she would do something in relation to my safety, but she did not follow through concerning the promise and, when I politely raised the matter with her, she said something to me that bothered me. Also, in relation to my health, I politely shared some relevant information with the doctor, but she responded to me in a dismissive and adversarial manner. Also, at the end, the doctor told me it was nice to see me and I reciprocated because I feared she may subject me to snobbery again if I did not reciprocate. Also, regarding this appointment and the letter the doctor wrote to one of my GPs about this appointment, the doctor's secretary needed to proofread the letter because the presentation of it was not up to the mark. Also, I feel negative about something else the doctor did. Finally, I am giving two stars because in some respects the doctor delivered good service to me.
Clean and welcoming entrance with some very helpful and cheery ladies enthusiastically looking to assist visitors to the hospital. The lifts elevators for US visitors are at the rear of the entrance hall past the Costa coffee outlet. They may be numerous, but they are painfully slow, so expect them to stop at floors where no-one boarding or alighting. Parking, although available, is very limited, so I would recommend visitors use public transport rather than take the risk of missing an appointment because there is nowhere to park. Despite the pressure the staff are obviously under, I didn't encounter a single person who wasn't cheery or helpful.
Every single member of staff involved with helping me on the 12th August and throughout my whole time here I can not thank you enough . I came In by ambulance and spent the night in A&E under such a safe watchful eye of such beautiful caring reassuring people. My diagnosis upon tests was shocking and extremely upsetting to hear but was reassured and treated with such kindness and care and was made to feel safe. I from the very bottom of my heart would like to thank you all for being such beautiful people.. you make such a difference to the world I remember the lovely French nurse in A&E Manon .. I knew I always would Kelly x
Well! This is a grubby place. I visited a member of my church in a private room and it was untidy, poorly decorated and not very clean. He was to unwell and to afraid to complain. I had occasion to use the gents toilet on the ground floor and it was third world. See photos.
It’s absolutely horrible! My auntie had her kidney surgery there so basically they were going to cut open her stomach or back and then they are going to insert a tube through the kidney so it can drain out all the pee so the kidney is ready for the ACTUAL surgery. The surgery must be done awake for some reason. While they did it they put in a numbing injection so it doesn’t hurt but that numbing injection didn’t help at all and my auntie was crying and crying throughout the whole surgery. It’s like they were basically stabbing her! Because of this my auntie still feels pain minutes after the surgery even though they put in a numbing injection which didn’t even help. Horrible hospital experience please don’t go.
If I could give a -100 review. Been waiting 3 days for a routine surgery. 15-30mins tops. Keep telling me I'm next, fasting whole day for nothing. It's disgraceful, this establishment needs to be reviewed by there government, the worst hospital ever, so unprofessional. As I'm writing this, I am still waiting in a lot of pain. Amateur doctors.
Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Paul and Mac in A&E department. You guys are very pleasant, professional and work with empathy. I felt totally looked after, specially after my recent experience in a Canadian hospital. People like you make NHS a pride of our nation.
I had surgery a few days ago and am very satisfied with the results. My only complaint, should I choose to give it a one-star rating, is the noise level, even at night on the wards, in my case the ICU, something the patient is also forced to endure in addition to the pain.
