Although the market says on Google Maps that it closes at 11pm, in fact some of the stalls will start to close at around 5pm, so if you want to go there, it is recommended to go there after midnight. It will definitely be enough for you to spend two to three hours eating and appreciating the exquisite products.
The market space is beautifully designed, You’ll find everything from vintage clothes and handcrafted goods.nnThe food options are fantastic from street food stalls to cafes and global cuisine.nnIt’s a perfect place to walk around, shop, eat, very close to Liverpool Street Station, so it’s easy to reach.
I am writing this same review for Spitalfields Market and Old Spitalfields Market, as they are essentially the same market, separated by a walkway which has many food stalls and vendors along it.nnThe market is one of the better ones in London, as there is lots of choice when it comes to food. Many food places have their own seating, but there are plenty of seats throughout the market. Even though the market does get very busy, it still feels a lot less crowded than some other markets in London, and I've always managed to get a seat.nnBesides food, there are shops and stalls selling a wide range of products, such as clothing, flowers and homeware.nnPrices are slightly on the higher end, but it's a great place to try many types of food, all in one place.nnThe market is easily accessible by train, tube, bus etc. I got off at Liverpool Street and it was only a few minutes' walk away.nnOverall, it's great place to visit, with an enjoyable and lively atmosphere.
One of those places in London that blends character, culture, and creativity all under one roof. Nestled just a short walk from Liverpool Street Station, it’s a covered market buzzing with energy — whether you’re into quirky finds, top-notch street food, or just fancy a bit of people-watching in a vibrant setting.nnThe variety of stalls is genuinely impressive. One day you’ll find vintage clothes and handmade jewellery, the next it’s local artists and antique maps. Thursdays are especially worth a visit if you’re into antiques — loads of proper old-school stalls with unique treasures. The mix of independent traders and small boutique shops gives it a refreshing edge over your typical high-street fare.nnFood is a big part of what makes Spitalfields special. The central food court has options from all over the world — think Neapolitan pizza, Ethiopian curries, bao buns, gourmet burgers, and more. Whether you’re in the mood for something quick or fancy sitting down at one of the surrounding restaurants, you won’t leave hungry.nnThe atmosphere is what really ties it all together. You’ve got live music or DJs some weekends, and events like the monthly Colour Walk give it an extra layer of creativity. It’s not just a market — it feels like a little pocket of London where fashion, food, and community come together.nnFacilities are clean and well-maintained, with toilets and accessible access throughout. You’ll also find plenty of spots to sit and recharge. That said, it can get quite packed on weekends, so if you prefer a bit more space to browse, try popping in on a weekday.nnIf you’re in the area or just fancy discovering something different, Spitalfields Market is well worth a detour — especially if you’ve got an eye for the unusual or a craving for really good street food.
A vibrant, historic market with a very wide variety of goods on offer, including bespoke and handmade items. The food stalls offer very interesting and hard to resist hot and cold foods. There's an Art type cafe and plenty of refreshment spots. I like how the old covered market connects to an adjacent new covered market with some very interesting outlets.
