Definitely a market to check out. As one of the traders there, I really look forward to the weekend once a month when it's on. There's always a friendly, buzzy vibe with many regular, local and not so local visitors plus a smattering of tourists that discover this gem tucked away down a short path off Stoke Newington Church Street. For sale is an eclectic mix of useful and stylish homewares, small pieces of furniture, decorative items, prints, jewellery, clothes etc with new stock coming in every day. I highly recommended a visit, especially with all the cafes, independent shops and park nearby too.
Went last week and my sort of vintage!!nNot over crowded, but good footfall.nKnowledgeable and friendly traders.
It’s very small to the amount of people that is there, however the sellers are super friendly and knowledgeable on their products. There is some cool stuff! This one is definitely smaller than the one in Peckham so I wouldn’t travel to this one unless you are local. Not a bad place, the only thing I would add it will be a bit more space to walk or like a proper one way system otherwise it feels like sardines in a tin
Way too busy, should be ticket based as it’s impossible to move around. Prices are ridiculous, coffee tables for £400, lamps and other small items for £200. Flea markets are meant to be for people that need to get rid of old stuff and for those who can’t afford to buy brand new stuff so they come to these markets to purchase important items such as furniture or kitchen ware, but now that it has turned into a middle class - hipster activity, prices are sky high and it loses completely its purpose and meaning.nnEDIT to reply to your very helpful and understanding reply, yes, out of 15 reviews in the past 5 years, 8 of them were positive, I guess you failed to see that. When there is a business I enjoy, I leave reviews in other platforms too, google isn't the only one. Your market is also highly inaccessible for those who are disabled, maybe you would care for that a bit more. The gentrification of this area is strong and this market is a clear example of that, if you don't like what others think of the organization of this place, then don't deal with the reviews and get someone that can be more objective to do so for you. Good luck.
We regularly sell our wares at Hackney Flea Markets Copeland Park in Peckham, Big Penny Social in Walthamstow, Abney Hall in Stoke Newington and EartH Hackney The organisation is great and they get all the best local and National traders at their fairs. They are always well attended and the atmosphere is always buzzing with added music and some venues have refreshments.
