Camden Lock Market is a super cool spot in London that’s full of life and character. It’s a place where you can find all sorts of unique and quirky things — from vintage clothes and handmade jewelry to cool artwork and gifts. The atmosphere is lively and fun, with street performers and food vendors adding to the buzz.nThe food scene is great too, offering lots of tasty street food from around the world — perfect for grabbing a quick bite or just soaking in the vibrant vibes. Sitting by the canal and watching boats go by adds a nice chill touch to the experience.nThat said, it can get pretty busy, especially on weekends, so it might be a good idea to visit during quieter times if you’re after a more relaxed browse. Some folks find prices a bit higher since it’s in a popular spot, but overall, it’s a fun place to explore and enjoy something a little different.nIf you’re into lively markets, cool shopping, and good food, Camden Lock is definitely worth a visit. Just bring your patience and an open mind!
Iconic, chaotic, and worth itnn*Camden Lock* is the heart of Camden Market and right on the Regent’s Canal. It’s touristy, yes, but it’s also what makes Camden feel like Camden.nn*What I loved:*n- *The atmosphere* - Boats on the canal, street performers, murals, and that mix of people from everywhere. Super energetic, especially on weekends.n- *Food stalls* - So much variety. You can get everything from Korean corn dogs to Jamaican patties to vegan desserts all in one place. The covered market area under Camden Lock is perfect when it rains.n- *Shopping* - Vintage, leather, handmade jewelry, art, and random quirky stuff. Way more interesting than chain stores.n- *Location* - Right next to Camden Lock tube and the canal walk. Great starting point to walk to Regent’s Park or Little Venice.nn*Heads up:*nIt gets _extremely_ busy Fri-Sun 12-5pm. Tight aisles, loud music, and you’ll be bumping into people. Some stalls are overpriced for tourists, so browse first. Also watch your bag and phone.nnOverall: It’s loud, crowded, and a bit of a tourist trap... but I still love it. If you want to feel the real Camden energy and try amazing street food, Camden Lock is the place.nnGo on a weekday morning for a calmer experience, or lean into the chaos on a Saturday.
We took the northern line from Waterloo to Camden town.nWhat a brilliant and unique area this is.nSuch an amazing atmosphere.nVery unique clothing at very reasonable prices.nThe area felt safe and people were friendly.nPlenty of food outlets.nHansel and Gretal gelato was amazing.nWe spent 3 hours here and still didn't see everything in the area so a return trip is on the list.nThe life size Amy Winehouse statue is very emotional to see, what a fragile frame she had at just 5ft 3' and apparently a 23 inch waist.nSome street and market areas were closed for filming.I think they may have been filming another Series of TRYING a brilliant series on BBC and available on BBC iPlayer. Well worth a watch nGreat vibes going on a must do place to visit for sure.
Beautiful place. A must place to visit when in London…you can donate £2 to a punk for him to get drunk; it used to be £1….it was fun anyway.nI stopped by British boots shop to say hi to Nick and wished him merry christmas.
The shops are selling almost the same things. And if you find something nice, it costs a lot almost not worth it to buy. Same thing with food. I feel it's just overrated. We haven't been before so it was a new place for us to visit so we went. We know we would enjoy more if it was like proper flea markets where you can actually find some bargains. It's a market but I dont really see people buying stuff. Mostly just wandering around. It's okay to visit for experience but that's it.
