If you’re in London and you’re a food lover, Camden Town is a must-visit. The market offers an amazing variety of food from all over the world — Korean, Brazilian, Argentinian, Indian, Venezuelan, Chinese, African, Mediterranean, Italian, Spanish, Mexican, plus lots of different drinks and sweets. Many stalls offer smaller portions, which is perfect if you want to try several cuisines instead of committing to just one.nnThe atmosphere is vibrant and lively, and after eating you can easily pick a nearby pub and enjoy the surroundings. You can spend an entire evening here without getting bored.nnOne important tip: don’t come too late. Food stalls and market areas start closing around 9 p.m., which felt quite early for us. If you arrive at 9 p.m., some places will already be closed, and by 10 p.m. most food options are gone. Pubs usually close around 11 p.m. To enjoy Camden properly, try to arrive no later than 7 p.m. so you can experience both the food and the atmosphere at a relaxed pace.
Beautiful place. A must place to visit when in London…you can donate £2 to a punk for him to get drunk; it used to be £1….it was fun anyway.nI stopped by British boots shop to say hi to Nick and wished him merry christmas.
The lock was great though sadly didn't look as if a boat had passed through recently but the market was a real disappointment. Mostly food stalls at some eye-watering prices and other stalls selling a variety of tourist type goods. The one exception was the Black Sheep coffee shop. Excellent coffee at a sensible price.
If an alien arrived from another planet and asked you to take them to a place that is diverse, all cultures, all types of humans in the one place, you would take them to Camden Town. A fabulous unsegregated space, like all of London, but here you get all the cool kids and all things music related. The markets and street food are great to wander around for a day. Not a place for the conservative beige, but definitely worth spending an afternoon there to be in the middle of everything diverse and vibrant.
