The best London airport. Direct train from central London 1 minute away. Not crowded like other airports. Jus one pub but it's cosy and nice. No long walks into the plane. Just few minutes walk! Choose this airport if you can. It will make you smile
Very convenient railway station for the adjacent Southend Airport without any long walking required to the terminal. Trains run every 30 minutes from London Liverpool Street journey time about 50 minutes, Stratford and Southend.
Another airport changing to drop customers off.nWhen will this madness end.. well if it’s anything like Stansted airport it won’t.nSouthend charge £3 for 10 minutes , as did Stansted once, now they charge £5.nIn my honest opinion it’s another tax for the motorist and especially taxi companies
Lack of drop-off facilities - disgusting. A place where people go to use paid for public transport. There is no place to stop and drop a passenger off except for the paid drop off zone at a cost of £5. Apart from the paid for drop off, the entire site is littered with warnings that if you dare to stop anywhere else you are liable to a £100 fine. I can agree with a car waiting for a lengthy time to pick somebody up, bit a drop off lasting no longer than 10-15 seconds.n£5 to stop for 10-15 seconds to drop somebody off?? All you care about is exploiting your customers for more money.
Awful airport. We had to go through Southend on our way from Vienna to Manchester. We had a 2 hour change over window which was reduced to just 30 minutes because of the queues. The airport was actually very quiet but due to its awful layout we had to queue for 30 minutes outside after getting off our flight due to limited space. We then had a large queue for passport control with no one considering transfer passengers under a time pressure. We were then met with a sign stating that transfer passengers MUST collect their bags and re-check in for Manchester and Dublin.. however our bag had been checked all the way?! This was very confusing and there was no one around to ask. Non of the check in desks were manned and even if they were only had the option of air Malta and easy jet, neither of which we were flying with. The 1 person available to ask about our bags didn’t have any idea or offer any help. We had to re-go through security despite being a transfer, the staff were equally unhelpful... overall awful experience, no guidance, incorrect signs and no concern for transferring passengers.
