Chalkwell Station is served by c2c trains which go towards Shoeburyness and Fenchurch Street Stations. There is no disabled access to the platforms only stairs the ticket hall area is a average size the two platforms are long and the station was clean when I came here. Standing on platform 1 you get great views of the beach and Chalkwell sea Chalkwell beach is right behind the station.
Very good customer service standard, staff are really nice and helpful with good manners.
It's a nice beach, but can get overcrowded, you can walk further to Westcliff and Southend sea front.which is a nice walk. There are toilets here, and some restaurants.
No staff whatsoever, all gates open and people going in and out as they please. Like most of their stations, shabbily manned, abysmal service yet the fares are astronomical. Shame in them.nnUpdate: 17/06/22nnHottest day of the year, thousands of people on the beach having a good time. You also tell us to carry a bottle of water with is in the hot weather. So I get to the station and there are delays 16;50 pm. I am waiting and drinking water like you advise BUT you have closed all the toilets? That is insane. Children, vulnerable people, the elderly, the I'll, need to use a toilet in this weather. That is just evil and pure nastiness, no thought for anything other than saving a few quid in shutting off vital services.
Excellent. Another train missed because there is only one machine working and no ticket staff. But they do have a security guard to double make sure you miss your train. It would be excellent to get priorities right and help people get their trains..
