Lovely Station C2C trains only beautiful buetiful

Rude, inconsiderate staff. I left my wallet at home (which contained my 16-25 railcard) after working all day the barrier wasn’t working and the man at the barrier was completely inconsiderate and turned me away without even asking if I could prove I had a railcard (which I could as I have he confirmation emails on my phone), and still just turned me away even after I realised I didn’t have enough money to buy a whole new ticket. If I hadn’t been with a friend at the time who could lend me money I wouldn’t have been able to get home.

Very outdated and soulless station compared to Southend Central. Staff let passenger through using a quaint wooden gate. Most of the time the station and its surrounding has the appearance of a grave yard. Poor link to London compared with Southend Central services which are more reliable.

Be aware that you can miss your train if it's before 5am, because guy working there can be asleep even 3 times in a week when he should have opened the station...

Helpful staff but dated station that needs to be refurbished cause Southend deserves it.
