Story

Sharmans Cross Road was the ground of RFU Championship side Birmingham & Solihull R.F.C. (known as The Bees) until May 2010. The ground is named after the road it lies off in Solihull, West Midlands.DevelopmentIn the past few seasons Sharmans Cross Road has been developed slowly with few major projects since the stand was purchased from Worcester Warriors in 2005. This is probably due to plans for a new multi-purpose stadium costing up to £60 million to be built at Birmingham & Solihull R.F.C.'s training ground- Portway. However tarmac footpaths around three sides of the ground have recently replaced grass, although the far end has been left with a more natural effect. Most recently in Summer 2010, the Bees left Sharmans Cross Road and moved to local football side Solihull Moors' Damson Park in a ground share arrangement. The Sharmans Cross Road ground is currently unused.In 2014 the former clubhouse at the ground, called the Arden Club, was damaged by fire.Portway StadiumIn October 2006 plans were revealed to Bees members for a new multi-purpose £60 million stadium to be built at Birmingham & Solihull R.F.C.'s training ground- Portway. However progress stalled due to Portway being under the jurisdiction of Stratford District Council whereas the Bees are a Birmingham and Solihull club.

Have been going here for a few months now. Had some really lovely meals here. They have a great menu. With some great deals. If you sign up for the sizzling ap they send you some great offers too. I recommend the fish and chips,the steak and the mixed grill. They all have lovely size portions always cooked to perfection. The staff are very friendly. The place feels very welcoming and relaxing. There is a disabled toilet next to the the men's and women's. There is a system where you have to put in your car registration on entry to prevent people who do not attend the pub from parking there. If you do use the car park and do not use the pub there is a meter there for people to pay. All in all I recommend this lovely friendly pub.
Excellent Service. We booked a family meal and were given a separate room, even provided a portable heater to ensure we were warm enough. Food was lovely. Would highly recommend for family get togethers. Staff are fantastic.
Exceeded all of our expectations. Range of well kept real ales is excellent; staff were attentive and polite and food arrived quickly. Sizzling steak was cooked perfectly, fried onions were amazing as we're the sweet potato fries. Three of our group had puddings and they were also a level up on what we expected. 100% recommend. We will be back.
The bar staff at the Sharmans have always been brilliant and they are a great team of people. This is our local pub and we have eaten here many times. The food is basic and normally does the job but yesterday we went in as a family of 6 and I can honestly say the food was terrible. The adult size portion of macaroni cheese was minuscule, and the 2 children we ordered this for, ate in 3 mouthfuls and said next time they would prefer a pot noodle. This literally said it all. The fish was over cooked and greasy and my gammon was over cooked as well. I did speak to a member of staff having spent £60 on this food and I didn’t get the response I expected. I must have eaten in this pub 100 times but after this experience, I won’t be eating there again.
Don’t even normally leave reviews, food took ages to come out. Our 2 year olds food arrived nearly 20 minutes before ours did! Food was absolutely dismal and best. Great place to go if your a local and your missus can’t cook
Would have eaten here but the smell was too off-putting; seemed otherwise well laid out and friendly enough, just couldn't get over the stale odour.
Service was great and very welcoming food was fantastic and was served within 15-20 mins of ordering will definitely be back
Lovely food, always comes out on time, food cooked to perfection. Plates always hot and so is the food. Well done
I've left 5 star reviews for this venue before, the beers cracking and the food, for pub grub is excellent value for for money too. I went last night, the Mrs had surf and was spot on. I had the chicken platter but the chicken piri piri was burned and the buttermilk chicken was missing, ok mistakes happen, it's how you deal with mistakes that matters, and that mistake was dealt with absolutely first class by Sean an absolute asset to the Sharman's cross, he horrified by the mistake and extremely apologetic, he sorted straight away and arranged a discount, the food when I eventually got it was spot on, I will be back because of him, well done the sharmans and well done Sean, first class service.
Been a long time since I visited here. Food was actually good despite some of the reviews I've seen on here. Staff were really lovely and helpful and very caring on a hot day.
