Lovely pub, good menu, friendly staff, ordered via the app, drinks and food delivered promptly, food was hot and tasty, good value for money. A few items were not available to order, but did appear on the app - only advised not available once added to order, which meant we had to choose an alternative, but apart from that no issues at all. Sunday Roasts all went down very well - Definitely worth a visit
Food orientated, large suburban pub. I visited on Thursday evening and very popular. The staff were efficient, friendly and helpful - this is clearly a well run pub as evidenced by its popularity. Good choice of cask beers, well kept and less than £3 a pint on Thursdays. Food was good, service prompt. All in all a good spot.
Been such a long time since had toad in the hole. The Yorkshire pud was cooked nicely, fluffy but crunchy. Loved the thick onion gravy and bed of mashed potato. Great pub grub and nice place to enjoy a drink.
I would like to say i had a great experience after having my nans 80th birthday here. The staff went above and beyond and help with all our needs. The food was great aswell as it been a very busy day they handle this very well so I would like to say a massive thank you
Great place to eat and socialise, good atmosphere lovely staff highly recommend
It was very busy for a Tuesday, but that is to be expected with lots of people getting together for Christmas celebrations. Staff were polite and helpful. However my food was only luke warm probably down to how busy they were in the kitchen. My aunty had a sandwich but had very little marie rose sauce and bread was dry, I think because she had chips with it probably being kept warm in the kitchen.
I ordered from the table because I was eating alone and you need a table number to order. The app is awful and doesn't allow you to make changes I didn't want dressing on the salad whereas other apps do. I did manage to speak to the waitress who brought my drink, but that's not great. The food was very mediocre and tasted cheap. I wouldn't feel encouraged to go back. The staff were lovely which is why this is a 3 star review rather than 2.
Excellent menu. Fair prices. Good food. Bit busy but expected on a Friday. Very friendly staff.
Usually this place is good, but when we had a reason to complain about a steak that was too tough to eat, the customer service from the manager was terrible and we had to argue to get a refund, it spoilt the evening, and there was no need for such poor service on a genuine complaint. As a regular customer I have to say the other meals were fine, including another steak, I understand these things happen, but it’s how you deal with them that counts, you would honestly get more understanding from Basil Faulty!
Staff were friendly and mini desert + drink was excellent value for money, to be fair. …..but, how can you justify £1.98 for two slices of bread!? You can buy a complete loaf for less than that. What made it worse was that it wasn’t on the menu as we checked after we saw the itemised bill. At least put ‘slice of bread’ on the menu to inform people of what they are expected to pay. The pub also forgot my tartare sauce on the order, sounds little..I know, but after the shock of a paying 1/5 of my meal in bread, I had to go up and ask for it. Furthermore my girlfriends Sunday roast had a distinct lack of parsnips; only one on her plate. It cost about £13 for her meal and you can go to the stone house pub in Hollywood for the cost of under £9 and get the same food with unlimited vegetables. Just a bit overpriced overall albeit the mini desert and coffee which was great + staff were nice just to reiterate.
