Visited SCS Thurrock in January, we ordered the sofa we wanted, the Salesman was very helpful and pleasant and we was given a reasonable deal. The sofas was delivered just after the advised time frame however the delivery guys struggled to get the sofa in the room we specified, after some moving about they delivered in the room eventually. On the evening of the delivery I noticed the faults in the three seater sofa we ordered both arms are broken, one has a sift area where it feels like the wood is broken and the other arm is lose and also very fragile, the Sofa is VERY poor quality. I have contacted their Customer service via email as I wish to get this sorted however I have had no response as of yet I have also paid for the insurance cover so we will see of we get a response soon, in my personal opinion on my experience with SCS is there sofas are of extremely poor make and quality, if buying a sofa please check the whole sofa you are buying for quality. Update 28/03/24 SCS contracted repair company removed material to check arms and uncovered just how bad the sofa has been made, half broken timber used on sofa making it weak. Now needs to be booked in for longer repair, awaiting new appointment.
Walking through the doors you may feel that you’re in a safe environment. Think again. Men POUNCE on anyone. You’re followed round the store by old men without a filter. I over heard one couple being bullied into an uncomfortable silence, not sure the uncouth loud salesman realised it’s 2024 not 1994. In the 90’s I worked in a car show room. We were sent on ‘sales’ training by manufacturers to manipulate and bully customers into a pressurised sale. This method worked for some of the less empathetic sales people, those that were there for the commission only not the after care and nice experience a customer deserves. The type of sales people that couldn’t qualify that their customers were actually humans not idiots, needless to say it’s eye rolling spiel and something I always refused to do. SCS are quite unbelievably using these same old techniques 30yrs later. To the letter. Intimidating, rude and defiantly not reassuring that you are valued other than for your money. Fortunately I had been recommended to see a lovely young lady called Zoe. Zoe was kind, polite surprisingly it was a relaxing and I felt comfortable during the sale. Fortunately she didn’t use the line ‘let me see what my governor can do if you do a deal today.’ Nothing was too much trouble, none of the ridiculous role play. The sofa was delivered to a different county into a foster home the next day. Sadly it was her last day in this branch she is off to Colchester. I didn’t take kindly to one member of staff hollering my name across the shop store like it was Billingsgate market. While the store is in Essex, not everyone likes to be spoken to as if we are in a branch of a Thames Estuary Wetherspoon, you could probably hear him from the other side of the Dartford Tunnel. I gave the place 3 stars because of the Zoe the l nice lady I dealt with. Had it been any of the others, I would have RUN and spent my money over the road in Sofology. Great deal, shame about the sales sharks
Delivery lead times are unacceptably too long. Then just now they are using the war and red sea as excuses to further delay my delivery. They refused to return my deposit despite not being able to keep to their estimate date. Yet hold onto our money. Not pleased at all and will not be using SCS again.
Friendly staff, happy to help. Found the model I was looking for online and went in to order it. Easy to do so and gave me a discount of several hundred pounds. Even gave me a cup of tea after! Thanks Raj.

Amy and Sue! Amy and Sue, are two of the BEST sales women I have ever come across. From entering the store to a welcoming greet from Amy, who then continued to offer myself and a friend a drink. In my first visit to the store Amy was just amazing, she gave me all the information I could need as I was browsing, she made sure that I knew where she was if I did have any questions or for when I was ready to make my decision. As I was leaving having not made up my mind I was then approached by Sue who was absolutely fabulous! She almost had me, but I had to leave without placing an order although I did promise I would be back as she HAD sold the suite I was looking at to me. And with that, I did indeed return a week later. I went through and completed my order with Amy, Sue unfortunately was not in this day. Amy was very thorough, she took her time to make sure I knew exactly what my order was and how things would work. I couldn’t have asked for better service. Amy was just amazing and for a young lady who hasn’t actually been working in the store for that long, she was great. I really do wish her the best and a successful career moving forward. Amy & Sue, thank you so much! PS. I will be back for that footstool!
