I recently purchased a Volvo from Rybrook Chester through Sales Executive David Lloyd Williams. The overall experience was highly professional with a personal friendly approach. David has excellent knowledge of the products, is highly efficient in his management of the sale and aftersale. He offered exceptional customer service and nothing was too much trouble. Looking at a Volvo SUV for my wife and these are the main dealers in the area. Greeted by a very pleasant gentleman who made you feel comfortable and then left us in the care of a gentleman who only started there five days earlier. Having said that he was helpful and informative and we left, quite impressed with the range, in particular the XC60 and the level of service and attention. As much as I'm sure they would have loved to take money off us it wasn't the first feeling you got, more a friendly welcome to an excellent brand.
Bought a Volvo here recently particularly because the salesman David was very helpful. The whole process was impressive. Picked the car up, it was presented perfectly and the transaction was professional and friendly without being over familiar. Despite being a 3 hour drive for me I wouldn't hesitate to look here first when I consider my next car. Recommended.
Waited over a week to book my car in for a service and to diagnose a fault burning excess oil. The problem was diagnosed - a known XC40 problem requiring a 'technical modification'. Waited further week and a half from diagnosis to booking in for fix. Collected car, but driving home same warning light came on with black smoke bellowing out of exhaust after just a few miles clearly had not been tested before release back to me. Phoned branch. Informed they couldn't look at the car for guess what ... another week and a half - even though by now car not drivable. Main Dealer contacted Volvo Assist. Engineer arrived next morning - said car should not be driven and arranged immediate recovery from home to main dealer. Informed hire car being arranged. End of day and a number of calls to Volvo Assist and Rybrook Chester later - still no sign of a hire car. Phoned dealership. On hold for half an hour. Eventually spoke to service manager - very well trained and personable - acknowledging our inconvenience and apologetic with the slick professionalism of someone who is often on the receiving end of customers angry and disappointed by continued unreliability and poor after sales service. Could offer absolutly no solutions to us having no car, whilst living in a rural location with no bus service. Instead, we received a lament on the inability of the main dealership to provide replacement vehicles to customers - even those like me who have had returned to them a car that is unsafe to drive far less those needing just a service. In fact I was told - the dealership were two cars short for customers already booked in for tomorrow so don't expect improvements in service any time soon. The Volvo strap line is 'Redefining Perfection' - the lived experience is more like 'Enduring Imperfection'
I see other reviews regarding customer service at rybrook chester. In some cases the staff are overwhelmed with the work load. That being said I have had a few of my cars in with them over a 17yr period and the workmanship has never been in question, but sometimes the service part can be a challenge not just for the staff but the customers to, this is not intentional its circumstances beyond their control. Yes I never had loan car this time around but hey ho. I was annoyed as the car was booked in for this slot over 2 weeks prior to going in. Pointless shouting at them making yourself look silly. However I did send email to a manager who was apologetic but again he can't control every hick up the garage has. They ain't bad people just sometimes things happen and they get the Flac for it....
I recently purchased a used Volvo from Rybrook Chester and i personally thought the buying experience was first class. The senior salesman Phil Hooton who i dealt with throughout the process was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. This helped massively when searching for the right model and price. His no pressure and friendly approach is a credit to the company, the aftercare was exceptional which i thought was a nice touch. I would definitely recommend to anyone to buy a car from this dealership as all the staff are very accommodating and helpful. James
We recently purchased an XC40 from Phil at Rybrook Chester and he was a pleasure to deal with throughout. He was always available to answer our questions and came in on his day off to meet us when we came to see the car. Definitely the right thing to do to buy from a main dealer as this extra level of service and peace of mind is difficult to get from an on line retailer/car supermarket. We had the car delivered and again the service was exceptional and we knew everything we needed to know about the car’s system before the driver left. Absolutely outstanding service from Phil and the rest of the staff, they taken great care of us and our newborn. No pushy sales pitches and arrogant personalities either! After visiting other dealerships we decided that Volvo deserved our custom, and will definitely be back in the future.
