Our experience with Peter Moorhouse at Halliwell Jones Chester was excellent from start to finish. We initially found the car on the BMW website and we’re lucky enough to get through to Peter on the phone. I never understood how it would work buying a car when we hadn’t physically seen it but Peter sent us a very in depth video and was there to communicate every step of the way no matter how small my questions were. We drove 4.5 hours to collect the car and Peter was there waiting for us. He had made contact prior to us picking up the car to put everything in place so we were all ready to go, however I expressed I was slightly anxious for the drive home having never drove an automatic and Peter never hesitated to take me out in the car and sat beside me talking me through everything in the car. Peter made the whole experience enjoyable and stress free, there isn’t a better man for the job.
This is the best dealership we have ever dealt with. First contacted them on a Tuesday, and drove away in the new vehicle on Friday. They are friendly, efficient and effective! Theo Wolff in particular was knowledgeable and helpful, and brought a very human touch to the whole process. Thank you! Owen and Linda Bull.
I have bad experience like others with this dealership. Car went in for replacing new alloy wheel, that was 2 weeks ago, promise it’s going to be repaired by 22nd Feb, rang them a day before. Joe told me the part has gone missing, he will have to reorder again! Manager rang back told me the same thing. Not recommended this dealer, ask them questions, all they did just fab me off. I have no idea when are they going to repair my car. If you are not enjoying what you do, you shouldn’t be there at the first place!

Terrible customer service, went in looking for a used 3 or 5 series touring that’s a year or 2 old. Michael clearly didn’t have the time to go through models, which he even said after he found out I wasn’t going to buy on the spot. I asked for details on the models and his reply was “I don’t have time for that, go and find it online”. Been put off even considering a BMW from this dreadful experience. Clearly he was only interested if it meant a sale today to meet the monthly targets.
My advice is to steer clear of the Halliwell Jones warranty if you're offered it. Peter Moorhouse assured me it was just as good as the BMW warranty and it very clearly isn't. My fault for not checking properly but I trusted the dealer.
Very disappointed with the welcome I had on Saturday 25th of March 2023. No welcome, hostile atmosphere and very little assistance. It was pretty obvious that I was very interested in the new 3 series. I felt so uncomfortable and felt like my every move was being watched. When I approved the 3 series touring in the showroom, the staff member reached for the key and locked the car! I left the dealership angry and disappointed. The welcome and service i received in Halliwell Jones North Wales was completely different.
Every interaction over the last 6 years has been absolutely grating. We've been told one thing over the phone, only to show up and been told that's absolutely incorrect, on two separate occasions. Came to view a specific model, had to squeeze into it parked between 10 other cars and rushed around the whole time. Have waited for a call back on several occasions and never received one, always have to follow-up ourselves. Recently told that the wait for to run a set a of diagnostics for a current problem was more than 5 weeks. Absolutely absurd. We have never had a positive encounter.
Called in to view stock of 1 series. After 20 minutes not one person approached to ask if we needed assistance. All were chatting to colleagues and joking about. Disgraceful. Lost a sale. Will be using Williams in future.
My first bmw experience, Theo at Halliwell Jones made the hole experience a memorable one. Top notch updates, Theo went the extra mile to get the car ready on time and made the hole bmw experience a pleasure. I felt like royalty. A huge thank you to Theo at Halliwell Jones
