I was rushed to the emergency room due to acute food allergy. By the time I arrived at the hospital, I was nearly blind and completely suffocating, unable to see the road or signs. I sought help from a security guard in a yellow safety vest, and he quickly helped me to the entrance of the ER. Medical staff brought a wheelchair and ran to push me to the emergency room. The doctors and nurses here were all kind and dedicated, and I am especially grateful to Dr. Jennifer for saving my life.
Ohhh.... horrible service The waiting time in antenatal department is over 3 hours. So the appointment is at 2pm but they will call you to see you 5pm if not later. This is a joke to me. Why would you give a time when you know you can't see me at that time tell me to come later. I think the budget issue is not an excuse for this. Also management is aware of this but not doing anything about this. I'm coming for an appointment and it's taking more time than a regular flight. Horrible feeling
I recently visited A&E with severe nose bleeding some time after a surgery which was at another hospital. The care was outstanding, I was admitted after a few minutes, and while it took a couple of hours to be seen by a doctor, I was being constantly checked on by nurses who were monitoring my blood pressure, doing blood tests etc. which made me feel really safe. I'm amazed how everyone can be so kind doing such a stressful job! I didn't catch any names but thank you everyone who was working on 30 September
Really impressed by the level of care and attentiveness provided here by the staff. Hospitals are never fun places to be and can often mean frustrating experiences. However, on each of my three recent visits, I left with a smile on my face due to the kindness and patience of doctors, nurses, receptionists and all other staff. Pleasantly surprised - keep up the great work!
I gave birth 2 years ago and till now I cant forget how sweet and professional the team was! The midwife, Jessica, was so so calm and friendly. I loved everything there. The food, doctors, hospitality. I'll definitely come back again when I am pregnant lol
I've only had positive experiences at this hospital. When in the A and E, all staff members were professional and kind and saw my partner who had a suspected appendicitis super quickly, and also the maternity department. From the lovely man on the front desk giving out directions and maps on the hospital to a wonderful sonographer, I only have positive things to say! Thank you for all your hard work.
Recently lost my friend after 21 days in ICU. ICU staff lovely, however the hygeine standards are disgraceful. The doors entering filthy. No sanitiser going into recovery. Not once was I asked if I had sanitised myself on the way in or out. I raised this every single day & was told it was my responsibility! Given my friend was then moved into a 4 bed room I saw dozens of visitors not sanitising thier hands ultimately putting my vulnerable friend at risk. Communication DISGUSTING. 5 days ib still unresponsive i was told he had meningitis, then covid, then epilepsy, then diabetes. The day he died i was called & told he died of a heart attack! I went in to say goodbye 2 hrs later & they told me he died of a stroke. I asked on day 2 if he had a stroke & was told no because the catscan would have shown it on day 1. Due to the doctor not calling me back or leaving a message the night before re very serious results from a scan PLUS the incompetent stupid uncaring African woman on reception who I called back immediately to - I never got to say goodbye to my friend. He was getting better until they sedated him for a scan. I called reception to spk to doctor within 20 seconds of missing the call. The Incompetent woman said he wasn't there. I asked how i could get ahold of the doctor - she responded "I dont know." I asked to leave a message for him to call me back, she refused. I then asked how I get in contact with the doctor as it was extremely important. She said to come in. I asked if I came in would the doctor be there? She said "I don't know." Useless 3rd world treatment, no empathy or any interest in doing her job. Stupid woman should not be working with vulnerable people because she clearly doesn't give a toss! Further to my complaint- given I could give the exact time I called .... Hommerton Hosp unable to locate who I spoke to. Therefore an absolute joke. Gross misconduct & negligence. They haven't even investigated to speak to said woman to explain or retrain her. Given the results of my friends scan - The doctor should be ashamed for not leaving a message at the very least. The usual brush off excuse is understaffed. It should be MANDATORY given that all patients have one on one care - That the staff make sure all visitors sanitise. ICU is not understaffed. It is MISMANAGED. Recovery is not understaffed- It is MISMANAGED. And staffed with incompetent uncaring people.
I went for a horrible pain in my ovaries. The attention was excellent, I had a girl take a blood sample, PHENOMENAL, very delicate and with very good hands. I went in at 8:30 p.m. and at 10:00 p.m. I was out with my problem solved and everything I needed to know about what was bothering me. All the staff who attended me deserve the best from me, thanks guys, very good work.
Awful inpatient stay particularly on the medical wards. Rats in the ward and took 3 days before they called pest control who inserted basic traps. The ward was generally poorly maintained from a hygiene point of view. The trays by bedside were never wiped unless you or your family members did. Little privacy . When bad news was broken to me I was told I couldn’t draw curtains for an hour whilst I sobbed Would not recommend
I had a great experience with giving birth to my first child here. Our delivery suit midwife was Lauren and she couldn't be more knowledgeable and kind. We are really thankful to her and to the whole team of doctors, anaesthetists, nurses etc that had to intervene on an urgent basis after I had some complications. All of them were so professional and knowledgeable. Their prenatal support is also quite good.
