The post code on Google for this Hospital is correct, it will take you right to the hospital. It's a decent hospital. Not particularly different from other NHS owned hospitals. Parking here is tricky. It is paid parking, the cameras catch you as you drive in, so you may likely get a parking fine sent through the mail you you don't pay for parking. Free parking: best bet is to look for free street parking around the hospital then walk few minutes to the hospital. Or you may get a free parking for a short time if you park in the Derwent centre private car park inside the hospital, although it has a barricade. But if you talk your way into it. Then you get yourself a free parking for few hours.
Every time I go to this hospital it's a very bad experience. I was admitted and caught the CMV virus from their inability to shield a patient or use basic hygiene and they caused induced liver and gallbladder and blood clot damage plus nerve damage and they seriously damaged my spine. They threw me out of the ambulance and made me walk with a serious spine infection and kept stopping my antibiotics after negligently sending me home with a serious spine infection. 6 weeks treatment turned into months in hospital because of their negligence and irreparable spine damage. Two drs one bone Dr and a rumo dr still haven't responded to gp for months so my spine is getting more permanent damage with trips back and forth to a&e. Pals ignore complaints. Negligent on all levels. Get left on trolleys and drs breach data pro and discuss you in front of other patients. No drs all night as we all lay on trolleys in hallways and drs rolled in at 8am all giggling and chit chatting at the nurses station. Elderly treated very poorly. It's a long list
My daughter was taken to PAH Sunday morning. She had been vomiting for about 12 hours, and had a very bad headache. She is 16 weeks pregnant. The staff were amazing, so attentive and caring. Yes we had to wait for many hours, but it was worth it. The consultant was a little worried about her symptoms, and wanted to do a brain scan. But he explained it could harm the baby. The baby was scanned and all was good, so back to the brain scan. The consultant then said to come back in 3 days and they would use a scan that was baby friendly. So off home my daughter and her partner went, and myself too, very happy at the compromise. I can honestly say that the staff were amazing, the consultant was very kind and understood our fears with the scan. But the man that made the day was Richard. He brought endless cups of tea, was just a joy and cheered us up. Thank you Richard you deserve a shout out, and a pay rise. Well done PAH, you did really well.
It was a best experience because of the great team. The whole hospital team was so concerned and supportive at every point of treatment. They treated me very professionally. So, well organised from start to finish. Staff was so friendly & reassuring. Excellent facilities & a really personal service provided.
I had a great experience yesterday. I went to the A&E and was sent within 10 min to be assessed by a nurse and have an x-ray taken. I waited roughly 20 min for both things. Once diagnosed, I was sent to get a plaster, for which I had to wait 15 min. All the staff was incredible and efficient. Big shoutout to them.
Have a big needle phobia, went in for a blood test and could not be more satisfied with my experience. I did nearly pass out but the lovely nurse helping me was so kind, understanding and comforting. Made sure I was ok by letting me stay in the cubicle longer and checked on me after I took myself to the waiting room. If you're reading this I didn't catch your name sorry! You deserve a raise and I just want to thank you for helping me the way you did, you are a hero. I know it's only a blood test but I have had some bad experiences elsewhere. We need more nurses like you
I have been with my Wife at A&E since 5am waiting for medical attention, we were attended by the ward and like almost everyone who is here and some even arrived here before us who, after being seen in the ward, returned to the waiting room due to the fact that there are only four doctors working. This is unacceptable for taxpayers who pay national insurance and tax in weight of gold and have this type of treatment by institutions that rightfully owe us a much more dignified service. After all, where are the doctors of this service? Because the nurses take care of us in the infirmary and then they send us back to a waiting room, leaving us for hours on end waiting for doctors who are supposed to be on duty to attend to these poor people and not leaving them for hours on end, I repeat, hours on end waiting for medical service that should be here and simply doesn't exist. This is shameful and something compatible with third world countries. Simply Abusive!!!
I spent 6 weeks on Ray ward and cannot find adequate words to describe how hard working, caring and dedicated all the doctors, nurses and staff were. They are truly wonderful people and I honestly feel it was a privilege to have been cared for by them all
Julie from a&e done a superb job and made me feel very safe and looked after. Got sent home with medication and hoping for a swift recovery The wait time was horrendous but not the staffs fault. Would have been a 5 but Julie and her team deserve Thanks again Robbie
I was admitted on Tuesday 29 November with a high iratic heart rate. The speed that the staff in A&E treated me I believe saved me from a stroke even life I was put on A&E Red ward then transferred to Fleming on the Wednesday discharged Saturday 3rd with meds and clinic appointment. I want to send out ahuge thank you to the nurses and doctors who looked after me. The care was amazing and was done with Compassion. They all deserve a medal. Thank you everyone of you
