This place is a dream, I would live here if I could. Its beautiful and clean with impeccable attention to detail. When we arrived, there was complimentary chilled champagne, homemade cookies, and local chocolates waiting for us in our room. The staff is wonderful and helpful and the on-site restaurant gave us one of the best meals we had in Scotland. It's about a 10 minute drive from the Royal Mile so you have the feel of being out in the countryside with the convenience of a quick drive to explore that beautiful city. Most importantly, they have highland cows on the property.nnI couldn't recommend the Prestonfield enough. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Edinburgh.
Had my wedding there and I cannot wait to be back for tea or for a meal. The place is simply stunning. It is like roaming in a museum, with details of art and history unraveling at every corner. The staff is perhaps the most attentive I have ever encountered and helped with their expertise in everything: from planning the event to running it on the day. The people that helped us on the day Sofia and Susie made it even more special for our guests, and regrettably I do not remember right now the names of the other amazing people that helped us with our planning. The food was delightful with every course planned to perfection. We will hopefully be back for many repeat visits to remember of our magical time there.
Cannot say enough great things about this hotel! Between the amazing customer service, delicious breakfast probably the best we've ever had, & stunning home, we cannot wait to book our next stay. If you're going to Edinburgh, this is a must. Anya was so great and extremely helpful! Made our trip one we will never forget! Wish I could give 6 stars!
I was given a lunch voucher for this place for my Birthday. It was great to see a good vegan menu. The place is lavish. I have never eaten anywhere as opulent as this. To be honest it was a bit posh for me. I didn't really feel comfortable, although it was quite an experience.
Lovely old hotel with great features. We both had champagne afternoon tea before attending an event in their marque just next to the hotel.nTheir afternoon tea was very tasty. The hotel has some really lovely furniture.nThere isn't a bus stop nearby so either a 15min walk from the nearest bus stop or a taxi is the only option to visit this great hotel.
