Really enjoyed the laurel and hardy night! With live music. Staff are lovely and prices are good. Staff are volunteers and the people who go to watch movies keep this lovely place running! Will be back tomorrow to see beetle juice
First time at the Plaza, and I had the place to myself! Unbelievable. Bargain price tickets and snacks, I'll definitely be coming back. Very impressive!
This is a wonderful cinema with brilliant dedicated staff, I went here all the time as a kid before I became a full time wheelchair user, but the wheelchair access needs to be improved. Approaching the doors last night for a special showing of Pretty in Pink, the accessible doors weren't ready open whilst the queue was being fed into the doors with the step. No power button. Staff are great in greeting and guiding but sitting in front of the front row seats isn't the way to compensate lack of wheelchair spaces. If you're with a companion they're a full feet+ behind you, makes it hard to chat before the film comes on and share goodies during. In the past I've sat in the aisle to be level with my friend to save both of our backs.nEverything got done up a few years ago, all seats replaced with nice new ones but no thought put in to creating empty wheelchair spaces and levelling the floor at the back. It's really just thoughtless and feels like it depends on sympathy for the fact it's community and voluntarily run to get away with it.nBut generally speaking, quality in the big screen is great I can't say for the smaller, I've not been in there in 20 years, the prices of tickets and snacks are reasonable, and the atmosphere is truly lovely. It is a proper community cinema where you're welcomed like an old friend. I would go here more often if I didn't have to deal with it's access issues.nnETA to reply to reply as there is no further reply option:- unfortunately that is the same response I got from my first making these complaints in 2018 on FB. I appreciate the pandemic impacted business and low levels of visiotrs this year make improvements hard however other improvements have been made in spite of this since 2018 - the balcony seats, the electronic board. Where there is a will there's a way and clearly dedicated spaces are low priority.
Lovely cozy cinema that we enjoy immensely, however, I have noticed that staff do not wait for the end of the movie before coming to clean up. For those of us who love to watch post credits, one of the staff actually came in to tell us there wasn't any even when we were sure there was. When I said there was, he said 'there shouldn't be' it felt like I was being awkward, I'm glad they were both there when the post credits scene came on.
Very lovely volunteer-run cinema. Picture and sound quality very good, comfy seats, low price on tickets and snacks. Definitely coming again
