Fantastic old inn just on the village square. Choice of a few ales. Friendly chatty staff and locals. Marvelous ambience. Pool table, dartboard and arcade machine. Good lighting with tasteful tunes on low. Interesting gents toilets. Very highly recommended
Visited for lunch and so glad we did. Fantastic, old world pub with fascinating, quirky decor and memorabilia, good food, good beer, and very friendly staff who made us most welcome and had a chat. Driving so couldn't drink much but could happily have lingered longer. Superb!
best pub ever!!!! worth the horrible drive/hours' walk in hot sun/very hilly bike ride we did all of them down the tiniest country lanes. burgers, fish, chips, drinks all wonderful. staff were genuinely lovely, and everyone down there is always happy for a chat.
What a quaint and quirky old English pub. The fish and chips were light and fluffy and locally caught, definitely worth a visit.
Great pints, and really friendly service. Love being able to sit out on the green at all the picnic tables, but would have been just as happy inside as the decor is beautifully old. Only stopped for a couple of drinks after a walk along the coast in the area. And glad that we did. Very pleasantly surprised to find that the drinks were so reasonable in price for such a popular spot!
Been here a few times in the past 5 years. Always a friendly welcoming atmosphere. Full of character and charm. Good drinks selection. We are here today, Friday evening, really good menu. Made it a difficult decision. 4 of us are, all had something different. None of us disappointed. The food was really good. Great quality fresh ingredients, well cooked. Sticky toffee pudding was delicious too! Would recommend for a drink and worth hanging around to have food too!
Had a best meal with a great service. Very quirky and unique atmosphere. Would 100% recommend to visit!
A must-visit destination, and one of my favourite places in Devon. Both pub and staff full of character, and quality beers still served from wooden barrels. Food is awesome as well - some of the best fish and chips in south Devon believe me, I've looked and the Sunday lunch is amazing too.
Went in mid afternoon when we were the only customers. Quite a few rooms on different levels. Unmodernised and therefore very pleasant. Two beers on cask. Good range of other beers and ciders. Worth visiting.
Great pub, nice and quirky with lots of bits and bobs to look at - keeping yours eyes entertained. Food was great and well portioned; Moving Mountains Burger was delish! Free parking. Tucked away in a great location.
