Stumbled upon this absolute delight whilst on a circular walk in the area. Doesn’t look like much from the outside let alone even open but once inside the atmosphere on this particular occasion was perfect. Good choice of ales. Professional & laidback staff. Really good food and very reasonably priced. Dog friendly. Open fire. I look forward to returning with friends. This experience was a Friday lunchtime
A quaint country pub in a lovely village. Had a selection of local ales and some nice cider. Very nice garden at the rear of the pub.
This place is like a tardis! We found this wonderful old pub down a little lane on our walk down to the beach, We wound our way through the dark dining room, lit by fairy lights, out into the bright conservatory and on into a lovely garden at the back for a drink on a sunny day. It was very busy, so remember to book if you want to eat.
Fantastic atmosphere , great beer , amazing food , and excellent service from the singing bar manager and lovely helpful lady waitress. We will be coming back for more.
Fantastic!! Best Sunday roast I've had. And the biggest. Well cooked and tasty. Staff were lovely. Socially distanced dining was good. Only complaint was the dining plate was too small. The food didn't fit!! Had 2 bowls with the veg in. Shame they don't open Mondays and Tuesdays as they would be busy. Especially this time of year. We'll worth a visit!!
Been a while since we last visited the Journey’s End and I wish we had come back sooner. The landlord made us and our puppy feel so welcome, the food was delicious and the bar has a great selection. Open fires added to the atmosphere and took the edge off the wild weather outside. Cannot recommend it enough
We hadn't booked but they found us a space. Very friendly staff. Food amazing - pricey but understandably so. We had steak onglet with vegetables in a wine reduced gravy and the best chips I ever tasted. Apparently the chef is the owner so definitely has an interest in providing best quality. Local real ales, well kept and served from the barrel. Would definitely recommend.
Really great food, especially enjoyed their Thai oriented dishes. Enormous portions, we all needed doggy bags to take away. We visited in bitterly cold weather just before Christmas and the log fire was on and there was a great warm and cosy atmosphere. Excellent attentive friendly service and when we said one of our party had a shell fish allergy the chef especially cooked the meal they wanted to avoid a shellfish ingredient. Highly recommended.
What a great find this lovely pub was. Given it was January not all pubs were open. I came here for lunch and then again for dinner with family. The food was absolutely delicious!!! My family are in the catering business themselves and thought it was excellent as did I. Between us we tried crispy duck, burger and the salmon. A hidden gem and well worth the trip! Note - the car park is at the top of the road opposite the church. Easy to drive all the way down to the pub thinking there’s parking but find there isn’t any and then have to reverse all the way up. We all did that and missed the car park sign.
Charming in its slightly shabby chique and with a huge shortage of staff, the food was quite simply stunning. Small menu, but each dish is perfectly executed, giving everyone on the table food envy for each other. Staff that were there although run off their feet maintained smiles and laughs for all. Highly recommended
