What a great pub, so welcoming for our family including the dog who got her own towel! The food is worth the walk or drive to, we could of quite happily spent the whole afternoon there, but the coastal path was calling to return before the rain set in. I’d challenge anyone to find a better Ploughman’s
A fabulous stay! The room was very comfortable, warm, clean and nicely decorated! Nick was great - he was friendly and welcoming! We had an evening meal which was delicious and then of course breakfast was was equally good. I love the fact that this place is dog friendly! I highly recommend this place to stay and also just for a bite to eat. Thanks again for a lovely stay! We’ll be back
First time at Bantham and The Sloop, not disappointed. Fish pie was the best I've ever tasted, including some homemade ones I've had in the past. We didn't stay at the hotel, but from experience in the bar it would be good. Friendly staff.Service: 5/5
Good rooms, great views, decent prices, nice and busy bar not too busy, good food, very friendly staff - absolutely nothing not to like! Location great, walks in all directions with a nice stroll to the local beach 5 minutes - wonderful views of Burgh Island too. Took our old almost 15 springer spaniel and he said it was the best holiday ever but his memory span is limited.
Fantastic Sunday roast! Went in without booking on Easter Sunday, the friendly staff managed to squeeze us in. The roast beef was delicious! Will definitely be back!
The bar manager was very welcoming with a great sense of humour . He made our visit very special and deserves to do well for this great pub.
Nice lay out. Good selection of drinks. The reason for the 3 stars: ordered a cheese topped garlic ciabata. I did mention it to the barman Leo just to pass a comment that laying a greasy dough bread on to a serviette wasnt the greatest idea...I had to pick the black tissue off the bottom of...wasn't great. I don't like wasting food and I'm no wallflower and Leo did offer to change it but it was just not worth the waste of food. Had it been something more expensive I may have change it. Just would like to see my food perhaps next time served just on the plate and I have a napkin under the fork and knife provided... I get presentation and all that... but a slight bit of common sense would have not gone a miss. The staff and quick and attentive and polite... missing from a lot of other pubs I've visited to that's a bonus.

Substantial fare and a well organised pub with friendly service. Suggest you book and don't turn up without a dry robe and a spaniel in tow !Service: 5/5
